i noticed that on this r/t picture http://imagescommerce.bcentral.com/merchantfiles/5023680/Res ponse%20Trigger.jpg theres a hose that attaches on to the piston but i dont have one on mine, do i need one?

You should. That hose makes the R/T work.

my a-5 r/t box didnt have the hose in it and it does say anything about installation in the instructions

The hose is supposed to be there. I mean, have you ever wondered why the R/T doesn't work?

where would i be able to get one of these hoses? and where does the other bit of the hose attach on to? was i supposed to get a trigger plate aswell?

I would suggest contacting the store you bought the R/T from to get replacement parts, if they will not let you exange your R/T I would call Tippmann.

the response trigger has a little metal fitting with a small o-ring on it that slips into another metal fitting in the reciever when the grip is put onto the gun.

Your response trigger is fine, thats how it is.  You were looking at a picture of the 98's response trigger.

I am assuming he was talking about the 98, because he showed a pic of the 98 R/T.
