Every third time I go to turn my computer off it does not compleatly shut down, the screen goes black and says no signal but my fans and the red light on my tower stays on and I end up flicking the power switch on the back of the tower to turn it off when it does that
Whats wrong? |

I think you're putting it into standby, not shutdown.
Alternatively, your BIOS may have a setting that allows your OS to turn the computer off, and for some reason it isn't activated right now. |

I'm gonna agree with Brihard; this does sound like a BIOS problem. So, if you want to update your BIOS or try to figure out what is wrong in your current one go ahead. Realize that you need to know what mobo you have, specifically. Also, updating or messing with the BIOS is very risky, especially since it sounds like you aren't to computer inclined. If you are smart, you will need to get over your fear of pointy ears and take it back to the store. Edited by Oedipus - 26 February 2006 at 11:53pm |
