So I aquired my sisters '97 Nissan Maxima the other day. I need to replace the speakers because she ripped them to shreds.

nice car, take care of it and keep up with the maintenance.  You guys up there get loads of road salt especially the during the snow season.  That's bad for exposed metal and also accelerates corrosion.

Damn, finally a forumer I can respect.

You bought an awesome car.

What are the stats on it? Milage? Stick/auto? How much did you pay?

From the pics it looks REAL clean, I like it a lot.

If you want any tips, hit me up, I just bought a new(to me) car the other day and have been learning a lot.

And yes, I bought a Nissan too, they are the bomb.

That's weird, my sisters car is a 97 Altima, same color. That is if it's black, I can't really tell what color it is, i'm just assuming it is.

Uh, I didn't really buy it, just passed down from my sister..... but I'd take it over other availible cars. It is a dark dark forest green but appears black. I believe it has about 130,000 miles and is an automatic.

The only cleanliness problem is my sister spilled coffie and never cleaned it so a floor mat is stained and there are marks running down the center console... I should probably clean that tomorrow. Thanks for the great comments!

why is everyone in love with altimas? i swear your the third forumer to get one in a month! im not saying its a bad car, its just there are others i would rather have for the same price(ish). thats just me though. to each his own, like i always say!

anyway, congrats on your new car. it sounds like your sister didnt deserve it though...

I think of the altima mutch like a Ford Tuaruse or chevy Grand-Am.

Just a simple car to get from point A-B somewhat economically in relitive comfort.

Its not overly luxuriouse or sporty just enough to get the job done without too mutch sacrafice in either department while keeping the cost down to that of the average mans affordability level.  And pluse he got it free who gona complain about a free car LOL.

I think it more gratifying to have bought my own vehical but if offerdd a free car i doubt anyone would turn it down.  Then again i also dont like paying someone to work on my cars either im a mehcanic myself for a living i may as well work on my own.
