Does fogging depend on the goggle lens? I have a really really really really cheap JT goggle. It worked fine the first two times I played then the 3rd time it fogged up something serious. Is there a way I can just get like an anti-fog lens or something?

PLEASE DONT SUGGEST I GET DIFFERENT GOGGLES. IF I WANTED TO GO THAT ROUTE I WOULD HAVE DONE SO ALREADY.

Yep. There is a type of lense called a thermal lense, they work really well and they don't fog. If you don't want to get new goggles, then I'd suggest some anti-fog spray. I used it for several years before I got some new goggles. I just re-sprayed it every once-in-a-while. It worked well for me.

What type of JT mask is it? You might be able to buy thermal lenses for it and that should fix your fog problem. Also JT makes a fan that slips onto the top of your mask and that helps with fogging. There are anti-fog sprays that you can spray on your lenses to keep them from fogging. But I heard the anti-fog sprays weaken the lenses, and thats a safety issue. (I don't know if this is true, I have never used the sprays, I just remember someone telling me that. I have alwaysed used thermal goggles and have never had a problem with them fogging up.)

Totally buy the thermal lenses for the JT mask, countypaintball sells them for $15.00, it will be the best $15.00 you ever spent. I kept my cheap wal-mart bought JT goggles because of it, I wear them whenever conditions cause fog, and they have never failed me. I can go three rounds without even  wiping the lens, oh and the thermal lens fits mostly every JT mask ever made even the more expensive ones

If you want to go the thermal route, you'll probably need a thermal Elite lens. JT's come in two sizes/styles: Elite and Spectra. The Elite is smaller, with a narrower field of vision, and is what goes into most of their budget line.

The catch may be finding a thermal Elite lens. And then, of course, going through the misery of changing out the lens itself. JT lens changes were one of the main reasons I decided to never buy another JT mask ever again.

There are anti fog sprays available that you can apply to your goggles. The best stuff is sold at motorcycle accessories sites. Beware of the cheap stuff, it can delaminate your lens.

If you are into buying a Thermal Lense for a cheap POS set of googles, I would just suggest getting a pair of V-Force Vantage's. They are only $30 and use the same lense as the Profilers. We rent these at the field I play at, and I must say they are just as comfortable as my morphs.

Erm, not quite... Vantages take the Armor lens. Not quite the same lens, but the same quick-change system and the same anti-fog qualities. I've got a set of Armors here that I'd picked up years ago as a test set - a local field was looking at going to them for rentals, so I was trying them out. They're great, refusing to fog. I wore them instead of my Flex-7 thermals because they fogged less!

I'd definitely agree that getting a set of Vantages would be worlds ahead of changing your JT's to a thermal lens. The Vantage will be much more comfortable, and likely will give better protective coverage. On top of that, it wouldn't cost much more to get the Vantages over a thermal Elite lens by itself. County has thermal lenses for $15 for clear, $18 for chrome. But man, the change-out... it's no fun, especially with some of the more rigid frames on the lower-end goggles.

I have changed out the lens in 7 pairs of Jt goggles now and athough they seem quite hard they are quite easy. I start at the top left plastic hold down, push it up and off with your thumbs, then go to the middle, them the far right then the bottom left, bottom right then finally the nose, and to put in the new one but follow the reverse of removing the old one. They are actually quite easy if you do this.
Besides, like he said he wants the cheapest way to stop fog,

"PLEASE DONT SUGGEST I GET DIFFERENT GOGGLES. IF I WANTED TO GO THAT ROUTE I WOULD HAVE DONE SO ALREADY."

And the $15 thermal lens no matter how you stack it will still be much cheaper then buying a whole new mask.
I think that they work really well, and we play in the snow and my mask never fogs

I would rather pay $30 for a new pair of googles with a supierior lense, and that are more comfortable than put money into a pair of googles that the foam will wear out after a few days anyways.

I have used the thermal lens in my JT mask for almost 2 years now, and the foam is still there and has not wore out. Funny I never heard of foam wearing out in a thermal lens ? And after a few days wearing. man imagine the complaints if that was true, pay $15 for a thermal lens and it wears out after a few days.

"PLEASE DONT SUGGEST I GET DIFFERENT GOGGLES. IF I WANTED TO GO THAT ROUTE I WOULD HAVE DONE SO ALREADY."

Why brow beat the poor guy it seemed like he was quite clear on the whole do not suggest different goggles.

Go for the thermal lens skruge the foam doean't wear out, it mounts perfectly still and easily I have used mine for almost 2 years without any problems, and my friend has one that he has used for 4 years and it works as good as the day he bought it

On both of the JT googles I have owned, the glue that holds the foam to the plastic of the google has worn out. If you want I can post pics of the one set I still have. On one it took over a year(that was on the Spectra) and on the cheap Wal-Mart one the glue wore out after about 3 days of play.

new lenses are 20$ still? ive never had any luck with antifog lenses.

what i did when i wore a pmi mask was rub liquid soap on the inside of the lense. this would help alot. then reapply at lunch.

however my invision has a better field of vision and doesnt fog at all...

I've taken out the lens of the goggles before just to see how difficult it was. (i do stupid stuff like that sometimes). besides the directions said if you take a direct hit to the lens you should replace right away anyway. so i figured i should see if i could do it. it was a little tedious but it wasnt all that difficult. more time consuming than difficult. i'm going to go with the thermal lens from county.

i have another problem though. these darn goggles pinch the top of my nose. (yes im black ) and its annoying and sometimes its a little hard to breath. any way to alter it so it wont pinch?

Kind of doubt it... not without altering the shape of the mask itself, which would compromise the mask integrity.

Those Elite-framed goggles are tiny, though, aren't they? Once upon a time, that's all we had to work with, and without ear protection. Some folks who go back even farther can tell stories of Uvex and shop goggles....

i have the stockk jt mask and it has only fogged twice for me because i breath out of my mouth and blow the air downwards so there is no heat to fog the goggles.
