well im working on this thing for my gf since she likes green day, the paint is drying as i type, but this is a pic of it before i started painting, when its done probably tomorrow ill put up another pic....

UPDATE-AFTER A FEW COATS OF PAINT AND THE PIN, ALL I HAVE TO DO IS LET IT DRY SOME AND GO OVER THE GROOVES WITH BLACK

edit- for those who dont know, its the green day grenade, her favorite band

i do turning. i have two lathes. but that's about it, carving is not my thing.

i glued 3 pieces of wood together and then used a jig saw to cut it out, the grooves couldve been better but the blade that came with the set that wouldve been perfect was broken, so such is life.

updated pics, its almost done, just have to wait a little longer for it to dry and then im gonna go over the grooves and engraving on the back and itll be done

i was thinking of that, but shes literally obsessed with greenday, her walls are covered with posters of them, and its  95% of her ipod library....a little obsessive if you ask me, but heck, i love her anyway
