If you didn't feel like spending a lot. That would be an ok package. What you really should do is buy an Ion, Halo B, and a 68/4500 HPA tank by Crossfire. As quickly as possible, you need to upgrade to a new feedneck, a new trigger, a qev, and a new asa. A barrel will also be needed, but for me, the stock barrel worked fine. I like my CCM no rise feedneck. I believe I had to go under the Impulse upgrades in ActionVillage to find it. The NDZ roller blade trigger is really good. Basically any qev will do, but I suggest the Virtue (clippard) or SP swivel qev. A new ASA isn't something you need really badly, but when you get to it, get something like the CP on/off asa. Might want to get a rail also. Also after a barrel upgrade, look into a new bolt. By that time, you will have an awesome marker that will last you a long time. Also the efficiency will be much higher with a qev and new bolt. |

Robocop, quit telling everyone to get QEV's before the basics... You do understand what QEV's do right? The are pointless unless he plans on ramping ALL of the time. For starters, get a new barrel, feedneck, and on/off. And a decent ASA is important, the standard duckbill is worthless. After that, look at QEV's, a new board, and trigger.
And when it comes down to it, don't worry about a new bolt. We can't even sell them out of our shop because people don't see enough of a difference to warrant spending money on one. Edited by usafpilot07 - 10 August 2006 at 1:01pm |

I suggest getting a qev because it is slightly more efficient and also is a grease trap. I love my new firebolt. Slightly less kick with better efficiency. Your right, I should have said for the basics a new feedneck, a new asa, and a trigger. I think the stock barrel is actually pretty decent. As long as you know how to aim, it was simple hitting people through small cracks. I was hitting people through cracks all day with the stock barrel. If he is to get a new barrel, I would suggest a barrel kit because the only problem I had with the stock barrel was that it was too big for the paint. The paint that day was too small. Even the people with the lowest bore size that companies make, were complaining about how that bore size still wasn't small enough. Even with that small paint, my stock barrel did well. |

My Ion has: Evil Pipe on the way (They ran out of backs), virtue qev, ccm clamping feedneck, NDZ roller blade trigger, firebolt, SP drop w/ SP on/off asa, Halo B w/ rip drive, and a 68/5k evil scion. I still plan on getting as soon as possible: CP reg, dye stickies, virtue on/off switch, and a new body of some sort. Also I want to get the 90* frame. |

QEV - n. An acronym for Quick Exhaust Valve. Originally intended for use on autocockers, this is now also an upgrade for the popular Ion that allows gas to escape at the point of the fitting instead of back through the solenoid, thereby improving cycle times, trapping dirt and grease that may get into the solenoid, and improving efficiency. Ion aren't to crappy. There like the Tippman of speedball, The popular lowend electronic gun of speedball. But there perfect, light, small, fast all you need for an SB gun. |

Ions are actually really good guns as long as the owner takes good care of it. It is good right out of the box, but with some upgrades, it can look and feel like any high-end gun.

Is the ANS Xtreme Performance website reliable to order off of? That is the only place that I know of that makes Ion 90*. If I get one, I want the black/blue fade. That might be my next upgrade or else I will get the cp reg.

I disagree. No matter how many upgrades you put onto the gun, it's still the same platform. If you are telling me that you're fully upped ION would feel and shoot like my sl66 or my dynasty shocker? I don't think so... |
