What’s the BEST Nitro\HPA Tank?

I've decided NOT to get an expansion chamber an instead just get a HPA tank.. what's a good one? I wanna have ATLEAST 800-1000 shots to the tank thanks!

Well, if you do a little research, you can find flow rates and PSI consistancy and such.  It just so happens that Crossfire regulators have the quickest recovery of all the tanks currently on the paintball market.  All modern HPA tanks have adequate flow rate to "charge" any marker on a shot by shot basis.  It's recharge rate that qualifies HPA tanks, rather the regulator on the tank.  Most HPA tanks are one of only a few tank manufacturers, Luxfer, etc.  It's the reg that makes the tank.  When you purchase an HPA tank, you want to know what the best regulator is!!!!  On a "competing" forum, an electrical engineer actually set up a test rig that measured recharge rates of various manufacturers of tank regs and Crossfire beat all of the popular brands, including NitroDuck, Smart Parts and Pure Energy.  Although a few were very close.  A "quick and easy" is to put your tank on your marker, shoot it and watch the reg needle move.  The Crossfire barely drops and recovers within, something like 10ms...

I agree that the reg is the biggest factor but, for some, tanks matter too (weight, size options, coating, etc).  The luxfer on m ACI bulldog is hella light but, the reg is broke on that one, and it's time to hydro-stat it and, I think they are no longer in business since their website hasn't been updated (under construction) in over a year.  Nitroduck Carbon fiber tanks are the wicked.

Can you provide a source for the reviews?  You can PM it to me.  I'm disappointed in that not even Warpig has done an objective review.  They did mention that Crossfire routinely does competitive tests but, no telling how fair, or honest they are since it's not an independent test.

The quick and dirty test isn't a good one though since most tanks don't have output gauges anymore.  But, with either my Dye, or My PMI, the output reg on m Palmer Fatty Stab doesn't look like it does anything other than vibrate almost imperceptably :-D

I'll do some searching around.  I looked but I can't find the article.  I've put in a PM to the moderator of "that" forum.  When I find it, I'll let you know....BTW, you can send your ACI to Crossfire and they'll hydro-test the tank and then put one of their regs on it for like $45.  BTW, NitroDuck invented the screw-in HPA regulator.  I believe they use a Luxfer shell for their tanks and then they have their patented (I think they finally got the patent) TUFF Skin resin put on it with their label.  I could be wrong on this, though, but I'm pretty sure.  Crossfire does have a patent on their regulator technology, though.  BTW, my gauge is a mini-gauge, but they, like on any other tank, can be swapped out easily.

UV Halo, I forgot about the fact that Tippy's don't have an output gauge.  I have a Palmers on my Tippmann and I did put on a gauge to see what the output pressure is on my tanks.

It's an A-5. You don't need some triple-throwdown tank. Pretty much any tank will work, performance will be similar. You wont outrun the tank, regardless.

I have a Crossfire 114ci/3000psi tank that works wonderfully. I have a 114ci/3000psi Nitroduck on the way that I'm sure will work just as well. Ebay is a wonderful site to find bargains. Between those two tanks, I've spent $170. Not too shabby.

But if I had to pick a cylinder and reg, I'd probably have to go with the Crossfire since it is the only one I've had experience with.

All preset 68/4500 fiber-wrapped tanks will be in that price range, and if you want 800+ shots, then 68/4500 is the size for you.

You can save money by going to a 3000 psi tank, but then you will be spending more time filling than playing.
