honestly do you think they will even release a game like this... there is no point no one would ever buy this. If sony had half a brain not a single disc of this game would ever be made. Why on earth would they think someone would spend 500-900 bucks for a game. So basically you could beat the game based on how big your wallet is not skill makes no sense on why they would even discuss this as a game

Baahaahahhaha!! Sony wasted so much damn money building the PS3, then destroying the units already built, to put NEW stuff into them, that they are running SO low on $$$ that they have to charge you INGAME... what fun. What's next? Each match in Counter-Strike you have to pay $1.50? I'll stick with my 360

Not a bad idea, just poorly executed.
If they would have made it cheaper, say...a dime per car or track, or a set of cars or track for the listed price, then the customer loyalty would have backed them enough so that they buy the game and a moderate amount of tracks and cars, and sony would have made a butt load of money. Thank god they werent smart about this though. Otherwise Microsoft or Nintendo would have followed thinking it was a good idea. |

See, even if it was really cheap to buy new cars, I still wouldn't want to deal with that. It's just more of a pain in the ass. If I spend $60 on a game, I want everything included in it without having to go around and buy more content for it.
Halo 2 tried this with downloadable content from XBL, and that actually wasn't too bad, especially when it all became free eventually anyway. |

Sadly I think this is a look at the future. It's sporadic now, with small payments for extra maps or bonus content, like the horses in Oblivion, or the cars and tracks in this game. It'll get more common.

Ok... there is a difference with Oblvion and Halo.. you don't NEED those downloads, you only download them if you want more content, levels, etc. This is a game that REQUIRES you to download levels and cars... you don't have a decision. If you just buy the game well.. you have no tracks, or cars, what are you going to do? Spectate? WoOO! And if you friend buys a different track....how are you going to play him on it if you don't pay for that track?
