Wii vs PS3 vs 360

So now that all three systems are out...is there a clear winner? Which do you like better?

Where's the 2001 Okama Gamesphere?!

Well, making generalizations:
Wii = best gaming/user experience
PS3 = best computing power
Xbox 360 = best online experience

The only way you can tell who the clear winner was is by waiting till the next round of consoles are released....

I haven't played the Wii or PS3 yet, but based purely on what I've heard about the others, I would have to say that the XBOX 360 wins it.

Some of you Wii guys will explode on me for this, but think about it.

The controller is an awesome innovation, I can't doubt that. The size and price of the console should set a standard for the next years.

But the thing is, people think that the motion controllers guarantee a good experience. Yes it grabs interest from the older crowd. Yes it makes some games more realistic to play. But as many say, it's not all that great. Again, this is from what I HEARD, I will know better what I am talking about as I play more. Supposedly there are a few games out that are really frustrating to play with the controller. Many do not offer compatability with the "classic" controller or gamecube controller.

Same goes for the PS3. Graphics are a strong point, and many good games are coming out for the console, but unless it has strong online gaming, it will not compare to the 360. The price is insane.

The 360 has good graphics, online games, a decent amount of features, and a price that can be justified by what the console offers.

I will make better judgement after I get my hands on the consoles.

I agree with you. I think the Wii is a great innovation, but I think that having to swirl and tilt and wobble will get old. Good for split screen, but I can't play like that mindlessly for an hour to get my mind off things. And among consoles, Xbox Live has yet to be challenged, so the 360 is my choice for now (they could have done much better by including HDDVD standard an an HDMI port).

Yeah let me tell you, having to tilt a conrtoller is the ONLY way to play any game on the Wii...

It isn't just because I own one and love it to death, your ignorance troubles me. NES games can be played with the remote(turned sideways to resemble the classic NES controller) without swinging it about to make Zelda attack things.. SNES games require the classic controller(I still haven't found one to purchase) I believe, that thing isn't motion sensitive at all.

When you look at it this way, Mario Tennis sucked IMO because you played a pysical game with what, button taps and analog stick movement... I enjoy the hell out of Wii Sports tennis because I have more control over the movement and I get to move more than my thumbs. CoD 3 is very hard to get used to, but again I think the new control methods allow greater accuracy in movement. You mention moving around would get boring, how about continuing what we've done with consoles for years.. moving thumbs.. Yeah, same old style sounds a bit more boring to me.

To each his own, but you can only remake the same consoles so many times before they get old, taking a new approach such as the Wii's interactivity, is a breath of fresh air in the stale next gen console market.

unbiased review is an oxymoron

people that like 360's are people that own them and they haven't figured out that you can do everything on a PC that you can on a 360 you can even have the same controller if you want... and for people that say the price for a PS3 is too much an xbox 360 is 300 or 400 and PS3 is 500 or 600 and the PS3 has better everything except online which see above why that isn't important

I'd say the wii for it's price and the revolutionary new way of playing. I used to be a big sony fanatic and I own all three of the previous gen consoles, but the wii is first on my list this time around. As stated by mbro though you really have to wait until the next gen consoles to decide the winner of this gen. Come to think about it a better topic might be gamecube vs ps2 vs xbox
