White Death....

I know a couple of guys in the deep south named that...
"War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse."

I'll bet that that's probably the record for most kills by any human with small arms fire as well.

Definately a badass.

The Russo-Finn War of 39-45 was a total fiasco for the Soviets. The Finns held off a vastly superior (only in numbers, and later equipment) Soviet Army. Aligned with the Germans after Jun 41, the Finns kept the Soviets at bay right up till 45.

The Finns were experts in cold weather, and used techniques and tactics which totally baffled the supposedly Winter Fighting Soviets.

There are several choice articles in Military History Magazine on this War and the individuals involved. I especially remmember a story of a Finnish Airman who flying a B-399 (A Brewster Buffalo Fighter F-2 considered obsolete by US Standards pre 1940) engaging superior numbers and better Soviet Aircraft and coming out on top. (one of the historical scenarios is in IL 2 Forgotten Battles, try flying that if you have the flight sim).

Military History is filled with examples such as the sniper, and in the lessor battles of the era.

LOL, nice.

I'm not sure I could live with myself killing 705 people.

Especially when the majority of them weren't even able to fight back.

To snipers people are targets, nothing more. And when that target starts shooting back at you then it's really time to waste them.
