Tippmann X7

Straight out of the box the X7 looks pretty good.  Although noticeably lighter than the A5 it shares the same robust manufacturing quality as it’s predecessor and the finish is extremely durable.  The top and bottom rails are part of the marker and cannot be removed but are ideal for bolting on accessories such as flashlights, laser sights or bipods.  The rear and fore sights are quite funky and can be easily removed if desired.

The mag when removed opens up to allow storage of tools which is a nice touch but it feels a little flimsy however after filling it with foam the feel was greatly improved.  The X7 comes with a stock A5 barrel, which performs perfectly adequately and is compatible with all A5 barrels but not A5 stocks.  All in all you shouldn’t need to invest much to make it “scenario ready”.  The hopper will hold around 190 balls with out over loading however the X7 will also accept the standard A5 hopper if you feel you need the extra capacity.

I’ve been using A5s for a number of years but the X7 felt better and fired better than a standard A5.  The trigger set up is very nice and the best way to describe the feel is that it’s like having the response with out having the response if you see what I mean.

I’ve used A5s throughout my time in paintball and am a huge fan however I have to say that in my view, pound for pound the X7 is even better. I think when fully kitted up it will out strip an upgraded A5 and with all those kits it will look and feel better as the X7 has clearly been designed with modification in mind.

Stripping the X7 is as simple as stripping an A5, inside the layout is virtually identical with only a few minor changes to the internals.
