Okay, I was watching Bourne Supremacy, and thought this would be entertaining.

The scenario: You are a professional hitman. Your target is a mid-ranking government official delivering a public address, nobody too important, but still has a few body guards. You are to eliminate him as you see fit. The address is telvised!

The environment: He is giving his speech in a park in the city, lightly wooded, trees no taller than 50', mostly pine. The park is about 10 acres and is surrounded by mid-size buildings, 3-10 stories.

Witnesses: There are 3 body guards, and the crowd consists of about 75 people, mostly businessmen and their families. Few children in the park that day. Constant traffic around the park, and a few civilians walking through the park. About 5 news stations are covering the event. There are cameras rolling all throughout the crowd.

Arsenal: Your arsenal consists of weapons legally available to the general public, no .50's or machine guns. You do have knowledge of silencers, and can make one for your weapon. You are trained in close quarters combat, knife fighting, use of various poisons and limited knowledge of explosives. You can cammo/disguise yourself as you see fit.

How would you kill him? Think creatively, and consider evidence left.

.50's are legal everywhere but Cali.

A scoped .22 with a soda-bottle silencer would work. If you want to go all james bond, use an AR-7 for it's take-down ability, although a semi should have a brass catcher and would have slightly more sound signature. A hollow point to the noggin from inside of 100 yards will do the trick. You can hide it under clothing, never leave prints on it, chuck it in a ditch. Screw evidence, if they have no way to tie it to you, you're fine. Just blend in with the crowd.

Poison would be preferable, explosives in the podium set off by a cell phone would work well also.

 

 

I hope this is hypothetical in case you end up blowing someone away and law enforcement looks into this forum.

I knew someone would bring up the .50 thing. Well, pretend they are illegal. Besides, they aren't exactly useful for this.

bolt action 30-06 from the longest distance i can be using an aftermarket barrle. 1 round drop a .308 cartrage to a strangers gun i picked up at a range. dump the barrle in the ocean and replace it with the stock one.

If: He will be doing a hand-shake tour of the crowd-
Item:Create small, thin, clear latex covering for finger, cover with cyanide.
Method: Shake hands while in crowd. Walk away with crowd.

If not: then-
Item: Pneumatic dart gun (elimenates spit from blowgun), dart tipped with some form of fast acting poison.
Method: Conceal in nearest foliage, might have to prep night before, with half dug in hole, and ghillie type suit. Hit near end of speech.

If I decided to use cyanide again, it can be obtained in either Lab form, or through various pest controls.

You took my idea!  Well kinda.  I was going to stretch it a little farther though.  Hire some guy with a prosthetic hand and customize the hand to carry some kind of toxin that will be released when he received a handshake.

I had the same idea, but I was thinking more like strip the gun apart completely, then throw away each part in various random places across the town as you make your getaway.

After his little political speech I would go up and shake his hand amongst the crowd and jab my umbrella in his leg by accident. The umbrella would fire a small caplet filled with ricin poison and he would die slowly thereafter.

Remote mine.

Easy to conceal a remote switch. Easy to get close enough to detonate it. Blast destroys all evidence in area.
