Jerks...

Pardon the rant but I've had enough. I hate cops.

This was the final straw (after having many incidents with cops) the events that transpired this weekend. Long story short is that I was driving with my girlfriend (having a discussion about our relationship so we really didn't have a destination, just driving so we could have time to talk and don't worry it was her car that I was driving so her gas :-)) and we got lost on a country road. The road dead ended and as I was trying turn the car around and car pulls in and blocks my path. I can see that it's a cop so I wait, 30-45 seconds later he's still just sitting there and so I try pulling forward (because I thought maybe he was trying to turn around as well at the end of this street). Soon as I start to move he flips his lights on, and I'm thinking “what did I do?” He comes up to my car and asks me what I'm doing, I tell him that I got lost and was trying to turn around to which he shoots back “try again buddy.” I was a bit thrown back by his comment so I said “excuse me?” and he said “what are you really doing here? Going to Hell Town?” I tell him no, and that I've never heard of 'Hell Town' before and says “O really? You mean to tell me that you're 'lost' on this dead end street way out here?” I didn't really see a correct answer to this question but I tried anyways to explain to him that I was and that I really didn't know where I was and I had never heard of Hell Town before.

He runs the plates and takes my licenses, and when he comes back to the car apparently he thought I was laughing because he asks “What's so funny about this?” and once again, I don't know how to answer this question, so I told him nothing and then I told him that my girlfriend had just been asking me if it was ok that I was driving her car. I guess he didn't like my answer because then he question my driving record and threatened me with a ticket. Finally he let me go on my way.

Why did he have to be such a jerk to me? It's not the first time some jerk off thinks he's king-**edited** because the city was dumb enough to give the pompous jackass a badge and a gun.

And Yes, I understand not all cops are like this but it seems that I have some luck finding them considering the 15 or so odd times I've had to speak to a cop and they all like to treat me like dirt.

Not having your rights read to you upon arrest could very well result in having your case thrown out of court.

Hence my qualifier 'could.'
