Well, since I started college i've been hitting the gym again (Free for students), since I've heard so much good about Creatine here, I dropped in the local nutritional store and picked a bottle up.

My question is, when looking for gains, how much Creatine should I use? The bottle said 5grams to water for a dietary supplement, is that what I should be doing, or should I use more?

You really need to be careful with that stuff, it builds up in your kidneys depending on the % and some other things, look into a weight lifting forum before you start using supplements like that.

Lot's of the kids at my school use creatine before they max out in the wait room or before they go to a game. So basically from what I can tell it isn't for everyday use just for when you are be going to do lot's of work with you muscles and you need a little better endurance.

Me personally, i use a powder called Blow. It's the most potent pre work out powder the guy had in the store lol. But yeah most places like that will tell you watever you need to know, cause in there minds you walked into the store ready to buy somthing. So there gonna suggest somthing that gets you results and has you comming back. So really i dunno why u wouldnt of asked a question like this there.

I stay the hell away from that stuff. Its fine to use for a few months maybe, but then your supposed to get off of it. Its when people start losing the mass after getting off of it and keep taking it to keep the mass that trouble starts.

ask the guy, but monohydrate creatine is somthing your gonna wanna stay away from, it just fills you muscles up with water from what ive been told and once you stop working out it goes to water again with sagging muscles. trust me, its happened to my buddies.

edit-protein powders are where its at

Personally i don't see a need for it, which is why i tell people to just avoid it, you can still build plenty of muscle yourself without it.

youg people do not need creatine, your body already produces it. if you take it now your body will stop making it as to not "overdose" then when you get older your screwed. to grow all you need to do eat, alot, and good stuff, not crap. People who take all that crap and dont eat, get a little stronger but they never grow big. body builders eat around 4-5000 calories a day, of nothing but chicken/tuna/beef/and other shakes and whatnot

Why don't you try and build you own gains just using good old hard work and protein? You develop a better stronger muscle when built naturally.

If I were you, I'd avoid that stuff. I've heard mixed opinions about whether or not it is safe to use, and its a fact that if you use it, you need to stay very well hydrated.

I think it basically just fills your muscle cells with water, making them bigger. But I'm no expert; I may be completely wrong.

Anyways, like Nuclear said, check out a weight-lifting specific forum, or even ask your doctor. My doctor told me to stay away from the stuff since there hasn't been any good and thorough, long-term research.

Creatine is almost like kiddy-roids.

Don't use creatine, I too used creatine when I started lifting. Use protein and weight gainers and you'll be fine.
