You know i think tippmann needs to make another pump or SC guns. seriously i think it would be awsome if they did, i know i would buy it, and add it to the ever growing pump collection of mine.

i think tippmann was turned off of pumps whith the c3. you can find them on ebay for 40, many people sell them for under 100. they also have had so much succes with the A5 and X7, i dont think they would want to go back to pumps. i would like a new pump, maybe with more options to make it milsim like, and smaller than the C3 and will use co2/air. |

I don't think Tippmann would ever do pump again let alone SC. Carter and CCI pretty much own the pump market, with some competition from Palmers and WGP Sniper series.

Pretty much the only people that play with pumps anymore are people playing on a really tight budget, or mainly stock class players. Either one is not a very large market. Stock class players arn't looking to pick up some off-the-shelf gun. They are gonna get their stuff either custom made, or something high-end. Tippmann is clear of the pump market, and should stay that way. |

wow people playing pumps are on a tight budget, ya thats it my carter costs me 700 and my phantom 350, plamer costs 1200, and my ccm S6 costs 600, so budget no i think not. plus theres a huge series for pump players OSC, and pump pandmonium at EMR. all iam saying is it would be cool, and very nice, cause i love the SL series they are awsome.

Ya I read it, and again he needs to do his homework, I have seen more open class players than stock class, I think stocklass is going down hill these days, so there is not that many SC players, But a crap load of Open class, so I was just merely making a point that tippmann should have one more, I mean if lapco brought back the grey ghost iam sure tippmann can bring back a new and improved SL. Trust me if the gun was cheaper than phantoms and carters alot more people would buy it. most of the people I play with who play pump want to see another tippmann pump.

There are no plans at this time to release a new pump marker of any kind. Unfortunately, there is no longer enough of a market to justify the expense. -Ken Thompson, Tippmann Janitorial Supervisor Edited by hybrid-sniper - 05 October 2007 at 12:21am |

I'm glad to hear you have so much money to blow. My ACI Hornet cost me $50. Most pumps are really cheap. |

i guess i personally dont see why u'd spend so much for a pump. if theres a reason than awesome. is it just that they are vintage and have reached a "collectors" status. or is there really something so remarkable about them that justifies spending 500+ bux???

Ken? You got promoted to janitorial supervisor? Good work. Well, I didn't want to say anything, but if Mr. Thompson can comment, I don't see why the design dept. cannot either. With the disappointing sells of what was originally thought to be the end-all be-all pump, the C3, Tippmann Sports has turned its attention away from the pump market. Until the market can justify the cost of materials, retooling and production of an entire line of markers, we cannot introduce a line of pump markers. After all, we are a much larger company than CCI or Cartermachine, no disrespect intended. Don Glass Edited by DeTrevni - 06 October 2007 at 2:17pm |

The point of the Gray Ghost is a bit out of context Policia. Colin Thompson is no longer in full control of LAPCO and the new controlling board felt that the best way to garner better PR was by appeasing the masses that had been asking for a Gray Ghost re-issue. It took a good 15 years for there to be enough people asking for it and a change of control to actually make it happen. While stock-class isn't declining as much as many believe, the sheer number of quality used cheap pumps out there is astounding. Most of your hard-core SC players have their high-end models and multiple back-ups as well as their collections already. The need for a solid moderately priced pump simply isn't there. Open-Class play is actually declining much faster than SC is as the vast majority of tournaments that hold a pump-event choose to go SC route as it appeals to the easiest common denominator to achieve. It's a supply and demand decision. There's a huge supply out there, the demand is met by the current supply, and the cost of entering the market is just too high. There's a reason the SL-series markers were discontinued. They just didn't sell anymore.

So basically this is the cycle of the ideas forum.
You come on and post an idea under the guise of "I think it would be a good idea if...". When really what you are saying is "I want this..., create one so I can have it". When you are proven wrong, and carefully explained to why it is a bad idea. You much like many before you, throw a tantrum. Explaining with skewed logic how you are right, and we are all idiots. This is why I am the master of the ideas forum. Edited by The Guy - 06 October 2007 at 5:09pm |

for one i didnt throw a fit and didnt call you idiots, second i just thought it would be a good "Idea" if they made one, and second no insult about cci or carter, and to answer why you would pay that much for a pump. you pay for quality, not over produced guns, why would you spend 300+ on an X-7 (A-5) clone and man i have seen sc going down, i still play sc but open class is running crazy. you havent proven me wrong in anyway i havent stated anything that has said i was right, all i think i said was pump is big enough to have a market. thats all i have to say o master of idea fourms.
