I saw it today.

It was disappointing but was pretty decent anyways.

Aliens aren't any more mythical than anything allready seen in Indie movies. (hundreds of year old man... removal of heart with hand while still alive... etc...)

I hate Shia LaBeouf so much. He basically ruined the movie for me. I was entirely pissed off when he showed up on screen.

I really hope they weren't serious in the implication that LaBeouf might become the next Indiana Jones.

LaBeouf has done a good job in a couple other movies (Distubia, Transformers) but I really don't think that he is right for this movie.

I like shia, and I liked him in this movie as well. I think George Lucas is falling off of his rocker, though. It may not be any more mithical, but they never really hinted towards extra terrestrials.

Ford has already said he has signed on for two more "Indy" movies which gradually "pass the torch" from Harrison Ford's "Indiana Jones" to Shia LeBouef's "Mutt".

Hmm...it's a 50/50 shot of survival. As long as they leave out E.T. I might see them just because. However, I am stubborn in my ways and don't want to "replace" a classic such as Ford in the Indy series.

I think I just threw up in my mouth.

When will people realize that LeBouef isin't able to play any other characters than the stereotypical idiot teenager that he plays in every movie?

They should have just left the series where it was.

It's not the only childhood favorite that is getting the Viking Triathlon treatment. (for those short on their history, that's Rape, Pillage, then plunder. Don't get it backward or it gets messy)

The Terminator pre/sequals are already shooting in New Mexico with Christian Bale as John Connor in the post-apocalyptic setting of 2018, and yes the Governator is making an appearance in these as well.

Aliens and Predator have been serially raped over the past decade to produce the festering piles called "Alien Resurrection," "Alien Vs Predator," and "Alien Vs. Predator: Requiem." And both Scott and McTiernan's visions will continue to be plundered for whatever can make a quick buck for years to come.

Even James Cameron is jumping on the "I've run out of ideas" boat and is co-writing/directing a live action version of "Battle Angel Alita" (One of the first popular Anime Series to be subbed/dubbed into english in the 80's).

I have no faith in Hollywood anymore. Soon, I expect to see 1,000 person song and dance scenes break out in the middle of every movie.

I didn't know they were making more terminators. I could go for another terminator but only if Arnold starred in it. Despite the fact that I saw them about a thousand times, they were pretty crappy movies. And Arnold is one of the worst "popular" actors ever.

Predator got raped in the sequal unlike aliens which remained decent for a few movies. I was unaware of more movies but i'm not surprised.

I have hated hollywood lately. Though there are still good movies coming out once in a while that surprise me.

I'm not really sure why people are almost wanting to dislike this movie. In any comparison to the previous movies, it's an unlikely hero (part time teacher/part time action junkie) searching to find things that are mythical and utterly unrealistic. The addition of a sidekick was inevitable and seen in Temple of Doom. Other than a few somewhat cheesy parts (like in every one of the previous movies) I thought it was pretty good. I'd go see it again with someone who hasn't seen it yet.

I'm not seeing it because of Lebuff. I heard they had to paint a beard/5:00 shadow on him because he couldn't grow one...

I have a feeling that the real fans of the old ones didn't like this one and people who weren't into the first ones as much loved this.

Seems to be the reaction that I am getting anyways.

Nobody is complaining about the things you mentioned. (nobody here anyways)

The four major things that just killed the movie for me are:

1)Shia LaBeouf

2)The inclusion of the alien ship. It was stupid, entirely pointless, and could have been taken out from the movie for the amount of time it was on screen.

3) The stupid cliches. (eg. Their treasure WAS knowledge)

3)Shia LaBeouf

I really liked the russian spin on the nazis from the previous movies. (done extremely well)

Also, did anyone notice during the nuclear test zone scenes (which were about an unrealistic as the alien scenes but whatever) that the house he ran into looked exactly like his boyhood house shown in the tird movie?

I was actually expecting him to run in and see Sean Connery. (I won't spoil it but I was disappointed)

If you close your eyes on the scenes that he was in, than it was a half decent movie.
