Not scripted sounding at all.

This debate should be interesting.

Don't blame me, I voted for Kodos.

I like how McCain always backpedals for her. If that is what she thinks, that is what she thinks. Maybe she just out mavericks McCain.

I don't agree with that at all.

I DO agree that she was a long shot publicity stunt that seems to have worked for the most part. Now if they can just fend off her discrepancies until after the election, McCain/Cougar camp has a fair shot at the big chair.

Stacking the deck:VP debate moderator Ifill releasing pro-Obama book

Nothing like a "fair and balanced" approach. It is in her financial interest that Obama wins.

I'd love to say I was surprised, really. Palin can expect to be hammered pretty hard, and I don't think it bodes well for her. I like what she stands for and I think that in a little bit of time, she could end up being a very successful VP, but she's having a tough time convincing the people that matters that she's good enough to get started. This debate won't help.

She was governor of a state that has a smaller population than most cities.

I don't expect much from her.

I hate to play this card, but how much do you expect from a single term senator with 'Present' votes on issues and 'community organizer' on his resume?

This whole campaign is rife with so many opportunities for failure from both sides.

I've said it before, at first I thought it was a solid strategy by McCain, but now I've begun to think
otherwise.

McCain/Biden: Experience in 2008. They'll stomp the Obama/Palin ticket, unless we're going to elect based purely on charisma and sex appeal.

That'd be beautiful from the experience angle, but McCain/Biden would piss off EVERYONE.

And Biden represents in congress a state with a population smaller than most cities. (Delaware) Difference is Palin as executive expierience making individual decesions as Govorner, where Biden comes from the safer group decesion enviornment of Congress.
So that arguement is pretty mute.

Too many are buying into the negative media representation of Palin, there is a very distinct bias between the media outlets. And of course the more negative the representation the more press it gets because of the current info-tainment market demands more negative than positive. Unless it is Obama.

That one got me . . . many LOL . . . especially because it is so true among some of my wife's rabid feminist friends.

(I've actually heard the statement that Palin is not a "real woman" because she hunts.)

That is what I think the actual problem is with Palin, she threatens the current crop of feminists, they demand to be accepted in the mans world, as long as the mans world is feminized to thier acceptance. The hunting line is a classic.

I think some of you folks are reading too much into the name of the ideology known as "feminism".

Feminism is not just "women uber alles."  The goal of feminists (as a group) is not, and never has been, to just get any old woman into office at any cost.

Yes, increasing the number of women in the higher echelons of business and politics is a goal of the feminist movement, but not at the expense of the rest of their platform.

You don't have to be a woman to be a feminist, and you can be a feminist and still support a male candidate over a female candidate.

Saying otherwise is just the same as declaring Republicans anti-democracy because they don't support Omaba, the Democratic candidate, and y'all sound just as silly for saying it.
