Well, 10 months in I realized that being 2000 miles away and in separate countries means that my relationship would never be the same.

Anyways.... I manned up and dumped my gf and now i'm a free, single man of 18 years old and it feels FINE!

I now do realize how clingy I was.... jeez!

Wait a minute, if she moved 2000 miles away then the relationship ended itself. You get 0 man points.

Good job man. My girlfriend of four years broke up with me about two months back. The first month was really hard but lately life has been pretty good. I still love her, and probably will for a long time to come, but i've already accepted that we're over. Took me a while to stop hoping that she would come back to me. You're younger than i am man, you're making the right move. I regret moving on to college with a girlfriend, it really complicated my life at a time where i need to be all about myself.  Man up, move on, get some new ladies in your life.

I'm in a sort of similar position. I've just broken up with my girlfriend of four years; we've been living together for fifteen months of that, and long term I just don't see her as what I want in my life- I've got my own direction that I'm strongly moving in, and she's content to just not do much of anything in life, and it's been slowly driving me up the wall.

We've got the apartment for another month and a half, and then we go our separate ways. It sucks, but I feel like a huge load has been lifted off my shoulders- I've got nothing holding me back form whatever opportunities or wild-ass ideas I might want to chase now.

No, I moved 2000 miles away when I moved from Florida to New Brunswick.

She did things that I didn't agree with and she didn't care about what I felt. So after a while I realized that we want different things in life so I broke it off. Sure shes a little mad, but I need to make the right decisions for my own life so I can move on. I'm still thinking about her and being alone, but the antidepressant that I'm taking now I think is starting to kick in and I'm feeling better than I've felt for a long time because I no longer have an overhead above me, keeping me back from what I want to do with my own life.

+100 e-peen if you get some bar floozie to come over and do it in the bed you used to share with your ex!

Actually Bri, sounds very similar to the situation I was in with the girl I dated just before meeting my wife. She had no drive to do anything to help herself, she was content to just float through life. I realized this all too late though, and could have nabbed so much Russian hottie tail if I'd simply dumped her stupid ass a year earlier.

"Used to"? We've got the apartment til end March. Wink One of those 'let's enjoy it while it lasts' things, where we've both suckered ourselves into thinking this is a quasi-mutual brekaup. (Me = bad person?)

But then past then I'm sunk, because she owns the bed. It's a crappy bed anyway.

My plan once I get real work and a salary is to find me a nice little studio apartment somewhere (or possibly get a condo), spend a bit too much on furniture, and maybe spend a couple years enjoying the single life I've had only ten months of since I was 17.

Meanwhile, you've got a hot wife. Quit whining.

Doesn't the stark reality of this hit you like a truck the first time you realize it?
Despite my unquestionable happiness in the situation I'm in, I plan to live vicariously through you now.

I've been in a distance relationship for 3 years now.  We are 1500 miles apart.  Somehow we made it work all through college and now are moving in together at the end of May.  You pansy LOL

New Brunswick eh?  I'm in the area fairly often visiting a friend at Rutgers.
