Well this is interesting.
It's a step, albeit a strange one, to legalized gay marriage. If DOMA has been the thing used as the justification at the state level for not recognizing gay marriage or issuing marriage licenses to homosexuals, what'll be the justification now? |

My friend and I were just talking the other day about how growing up in Florida made Slip N' Slides far less enjoyable. They were never quite long enough, so you always slid out into the grass, which was inevitably filled with sandspurs. That was usually followed by much pain and tweezers.

The drilling rigs that are already in existence did not magically disappear. There is also the hilariousness that is the need to make the discussion about anything but legalizing homosexual marriage. Wrong. He's not 'ignoring the law'. He's accepting the challenge of the law's constitutionality and allowing a court to strike it down on constitutional grounds unchallenged- in short, he's letting it die without a fight. He and the justice department have concluded that a reasonable argument cannot be made for the constitutionality of section 3 of the defense of marriage act. There's nothing at all inappropriate with accepting the verdict of a court on this.
