The dude who killed 77 people in Norway got sentenced today. He will serve 21 years with the possibility of parole after 10.

It's not as light as it seems. Norwegian law allows them to hold you indefinitely after your sentence is served if they deem you to still be a danger to society. It's kinda like Gitmo for Norsemen. |

Here that wouldn't even be a possibility though. He would either be dead in a few years, or sentenced to life w/o parole from the get go.

Isn't this old news? The media were all over Norways maximum sentence. Shortly after the shooting occurred.

Twenty-one is the national maximum for sentencing, the court can order an extension of the time after 21 years up to another 21 years, and so on and so forth.

I'm no lawyer, but if he were my client I'd advise him against apologizing for only killing 77 people and not more.
