I feel that when it comes to paintball the player is what makes the game and what wins the game but my brother and some of my friends feel that it's the amount of firepower that wins the game. After months of heated debate I decided to ask more people about their opinons. So what is it the gun or the man?

Quite a few players believe that firepower compensates for a lack of skill , and trying to convince them of their ignorance is like trying to teach a dog french . It only serves to irritate the dog , and frustrate you . Practice your drills , keeping tight , and such , soon enough you will be able to demonstrate the concept for them , err on them |

Shadowminion's got it. There's a whole lot of players out there (and I use the term loosely) who think that overwhelming firepower is the only way to play. What happens to them is typically that they burn out on paintball in short order, either because they can no longer afford to sling four cases of paint in a day, or because it's no fun to put blisters on your fingers from speed shooting, or whatever. Basically, there's no fun in the game doing it that way. Let 'em think their way of playing is the way to do it, and take them to school with a slower/older/pump-action marker by nailing them every time.

While I think skill is the best attribute to have, when it comes to the BPS question, I would much rather have it and not need it than need it and not have it. |

It's almost all the player. If you're really good, you can even win a game without a gun...

Speaking of......a few days ago me, my brother, and a bunch of people he knew were playing woodsball at my bros friends house. We played a game that they made up, one person has a gun and is on a team by himself....everyone else is on the other team and has sticks as weapons So ha! |

i think its more like 70 the man and 30 the gun/equipment. but i have been a victim of this too.my friend has a 98c no uprades and i have my 98c with e-bolt and eggy. we play all the time and he wins the majority of the time because my 5 shots get close but his one or 2 get even closer. He has also been playing for alot longer. so i think its more the man than the gun but if your gun isnt working or if your playing a guy with a dm4 and the other has a pump, it just might go the dm4's way.

Its more of the player than anything else, but the gun does help.

The Man
It's mostly the person behind the marker not the marker itself i've seen really crappy guys with angels and other high end guns get bunkered by kind with rentals. But in most cases having a better gun does give you an edge over the opponent. |

in woods its like 90% player 10% equip (4 fire fights) but speed i think its like 75(player)/25(gun) just cause if ur getting 30 bps at u can u can shoot 1 /sec ur a dead man still i think its like this : a bad guitarest with a great guitar is still a bad guitarest and a bad pber with a great gun is still a bad pber

Combination of both.
A great player with a Pump will perform better than a total rookie with a Black Magic Autococker
Equallly two good players with same weapons will be close, same players but one with a Spyder and one with a slingshot will be a little lopsided.
So I say it is both, a good combination equals a good player.

Both. Brimstone Smoke(amateur) with with DM4s vs Infamous with bone stock tippmanns. Infamous is obviously a better team, but with out being able to lane or put down enough paint, brimstone will be able to move and keep lasoya from moving. It always helps to have a nice marker, but its usually never what determines the outcome of the game. |

I believe the player a sucky player with a angel isent gonna magicly become an awsome player and own the field a good gun definatly helps once your a good player you may do better using fire power but you still gotta be good at playing it cant just buy a good gun and become awsome
