I notice that alot of people say it is the player not the gun, but from experience i have seen the people who comment on that either arent playing or own a really nice gun. I wanted to see what everyone else thinks |

i own some "nice" guns and ive played with plenty of high end guns... a good player can win with any gun but the high end guns make it alot easyer

A great player with a poor marker will beat, 100% of the time, a poor player with a great marker. High end markers will help your game if you know what you are supposed to be doing, but it still comes down to the skill of the player and luck. I'd guess that for 85% of us our marker is far more capable of doing what it is supposed to do than we are capable of doing what we are supposed to do. |

You might have the most perfectly balanced, most finely crafted hammer on the planet, but if you have no skill with driving nails you're still going to hit yourself in the thumb. It does matter how good your tools are, but you have to have the skill to best make use of those tools or you're not getting all you can out of them.
A poor carpenter with great tools is not as good as a great carpenter with poorer tools. The great carpenter will make due and his skill will make up the lack and work around some of the deficiency of the poor tools. Edited by reifidom |

any skilled player with a pump can usually beat a newbie with a matrix or an angle. |

It is the persons skill over the gun, but dont even try to say that the gun plays no role at all. If you take 2 players with equal skill, the one with the better (not always most expensive, just better) gun is going to win. |

The only thing I'd add to this is if you have two players of equal skill, then luck, who has the better plan, and who makes the fewest mistakes also play into the outcome. Yes the marker will make a bit of a difference, but it is an exponential difference meaning that the less skilled the players are the less of a difference it makes. Example, take two top paintball players...pros...and put them out there with two differnt markers...the one who has the better marker will GENERALLY come out ahead. (You must always factor luck...) Now take two realatively new players and do the same thing. I think you'll find that because they don't know how to use the markers at their disposal as well as the pros that the outcome will be more 50-50 due to the marker difference. |
