I am not biased at all. Keep that in mind.
I think that you should go with the 98 Pro. Mainly because it is much more realible then the Ion. The Ion is made of cheap parts and the solenoid is crap. The Custom Pro is much more reliable and less easier to break. Also, the Pro w/ E-Grip should be a little cheaper. It already comes with a decent barell and drop forward. The Ion is $300 and has a bit more than the Pro but you lose out on quality. The Ions are extremely sparse. You will be lucky to find a new one until the end of April. The only things that I think the Ion beats the Pro on is that the Ion has a built in regulator. The Pro doesn't. That and it is a little bit faster. But even with the 15bps cap, it doesn't matter. The only problem I see with the Pro is that it has the same body style as the Custom. The body style is to big for speedball. It needs to be more compact and I would like to see them come up with a better more speedball-look for it. That's just my 2 cent. |

Ion, it has eyes, lighter, and it already comes with a regulator.

If your shooting 15 bps max on the Pro, you dont even need eyes at that speed as long as you have an electronic hopper. Personaly, anything over 10 bps is a waste of paint ....

Comparing ION to 98C pro is like comparing Angel to SL-68
ION- Lighter more compact (I can find cheaper then 220...) But it's all opinion |

ION 90 day warranty Tippmann 1 year ( more like lifetime ) I wont buy any marker that only comes with a 90 day warranty. I have played with the ion. Doesnt handle CO2 as described, froze up.... The noid/board configuration is also suspect. That was with a properly installed anti syphon tube. If it can be sold for $220 that is at dealer cost. Not a price that is for the general public. For the investment I feel that the 98 will be a better overall purchase due to a proven track record of the core marker/parts thats without playing with one yet. |

.. i would say ion unless ur playin woodsball because tippamsn are more reliable then ions.. go for the ion if ur planning on speedball because even though it might ab a little crappy. but i think it would depend on what u play
