silencers are just like a pipe insulator... thye work a little but with a tippmann its the internals that make most of the noise

No, moron. Anyway, you would have to check your local/state laws and check what their guidelines are on silencers. Generally, they are frowned upon. If you want quiet, buy a higher end gun. Tippmanns are not ever going to be real stealthy. |

Actually, silencers are ILLEGAL on paintball guns also. The only "silencer" thats legal on a paintball gun is porting, and thats because it can't be used to silence the report of a real firearm. In order to get a LEGAL silencer you need to pay a $200 stamp tax and fill out alot of paperwork. |

Actually, modifying a firearm to shoot in a way it wasnt intended isnt exactly legal.

i know that... i was saying that firearms aren't illegal but modifying them is, but hta doesnt make fireamrs illegal. so what i was getting at was how come paintball gun silencers are illegal.... nvm

I agree 100% with what the BATF says on this issue. What happens if some psycho gets his hands on a paintball silencer and modifies it for use with a firearm and goes on a shooting rampage with it? |
