E-trigger issues

Update: I got it to cock and everything, hooked it up to co2, and it was firing just fine. The problem is that its only firing in full auto. Ive tinkered with the little screw to try and set it to a different mode, but it hasnt worked. One thing i was confused about is when it says semi auto - 1, does that mean 1 click, or 1 full turn? and wheres the starting point, there doesnt seem to be an "all the way in" for that screw. If anyone with a cpro or a5 egrip/trigger could help me out that would be awesome. -ws

May be the same issue I had.  I have an A-5 with E-grip and it fired on auto after installing a double trigger.  You need to take the trigger back out and on the rear of it is a metal band holding in a spring.  Take them off and reassemble it.  Should fire fine then.

Totally off topic, but did anyone notice Drew08's member title?  I LOL'd at that.    "Filterdodging Pottymouth" would be a good name for a band.

Now to get on topic.  I had an e-grip for my A5 and got rid of it because I didn't like it.  I will try to be as precise as possible, but since I no longer have the part to look at, I may make a mistake or two.  Also, I don't know how similar the internals on the two systems (98 and A5 e-trigger's) so that could cause me to mess this up too.

If the 98 C-Pro e-trigger is similar to the A5 e-grip you should have two little white screws, one with a plus (+) on the end and the other with a minus (-) to set fire mode and rate of fire.  These do not unscrew; think of them as switches like the switches on a stove top for turning on the burners.  If you turn them all the way around, they just start over.  The reason your stuck on auto mode is probably related to what ollieb said.

The Tippman e-grip (at least for the A5) actually fire when pressure is relieved from a microswitch as opposed to when it is pressed.  If you didn't use the trigger that came with it, then something may be interfering with trigger to switch contact.  The metal band and spring that ollieb mentioned above is what allows the trigger to reset and catch the sear so you can fire your next semi-auto shot with a mechanical Tippmann.  It is not needed with an electronic trigger.  If you didn't use the trigger that came with it, the first thing I would do is swap it in and see what happens.

That parts breakdown graphic is right here on the Tippmann web site and available to all. There is little excuse, for those offering advise, to not use the correct terms or to at least use clearly understood terms. An example of a commonly used term which is not the one you will see on this parts list is the term "power valve." That is used, by most, to reference the valve located inside the "power tube." Another example is the use of the term "feed neck" when the parts lists refer to it as the "feed elbow." Everyone will usually understand. I don't see the term "thingy," even as a modifier, in any Tippmann manual.
