in lieu of recent events, msn has on their website an article on whether or not teachers should carry guns or not. on their live poll the majority said no, but personally i think they should, especially in schools with no metal detectors....we've all seen that kid with the wild look in his eyes walking down the hall

discuss

If they all carried concealed and were highly trained I think it would be ok. If it were some retard who took a basic safety class six years ago and got a carry permit, fires 50 rounds a year I'd say no. However I do think an undercover school resource officer would be a good idea, like if he could double as a comp tech guy and never use his authority unless a shooting type situation did occur.

Think of the cost in dollars and time to give every teacher a gun and train them. Just that is ridiculus.

Not a matter of making it mandatory for teachers to carry, but just allow them to if they have proper training. However if you did want to spend thousands equiping them and training them, it'd still be cheaper than more cops in schools.

At highschool, we had a police officer always there and we also had another guy who was asked to retire from the police force for reasons that I dont want to type out as "School Security"

Here at Purdue, we have a full police force.  Not this Campus Security, but the actuall Purdue police.  Dont know if thats common or not, they play it off here like its a rare thing.

You realize how little time it would take for students to find that gun?
