A R/T allows you to fire faster by inducing trigger bounce, which causes a "full auto" effect. But if you are playing in a cold environment you will freeze your marker up. I would suggest getting a expansion chamber before even thinking about an R/T. The other thing about an R/T is that in order to use it properly you would have to get a faster hopper.

I agree with Snake. Look into an expansion chamber first. They run $30-80 depending on what you get. DOP X-Core runs for $30 and is a very common expansion chamber. The palmer's Stabilizer runs for $80 and is a top of the line performer. The RT allows your gun to fire much faster while staying mech. It will cause your gun to freeze up if you dont have an expansion chamber. it also requires a faster hopper. Cyclones are available for $50 and are great hoppers for the RT. |

i forget what the stages mean not worth it to have it installed at a pbshop if you must pay. It is very easy to install yourself, mine at least installs anything you buy there for free but I enjoy doing it myself |

Keep the instruction manual handy, use a big table and put a towel down to keep small parts from rolling away and you'll be fine. (Also separate the halves slowly.) |

So if you had a stock a5 with a double trigger, could you install an RT and use it without any problems? I just bought a stock a5 with double trigger and i was looking into getting an RT just to make it faster, but i dont know if i can even use the double trigger with the RT or if the Stock Cyclone will feed fast enough

you will probably want to upgrade the cyclone, the vortex mod is pretty cheap.
supposedly double triggers don't work as well with the rt (they will work, but just not as well) |

i've tried with both single and double triggers, and they both work, just different feels. after a while using my double trigger, it got easy. i switched back to single, and it seemed to be alot easier to sweetspot. |

To some people the R/T is harder to sweet spot because the double trigger allows you to apply to much pressure with your fingers. It's individual preference. As far as what the R/T or X-chamber does go to tippmannparts.com, also try actionvillage.com.

nathanours:
2 things A) learn to take apart your marker. 98cs are VERY easy to dis-/reassemble once you get the hang of it. if your careful, no springs will go flying or anything. Just make sure to keep the diagram in the manual handy. B) The number of stages in an X-chamber (someone correct me if Im wrong) are the number of cups inside of it that induce the expansion of the Co2. More stages means that its more graded, therefore giving the Co2 more time to expand. DOP X-Cores are a good x-chamber at a good price, but id spend the extra money and go for a palmers stabilizer. not an x-chamber but a regulator (co2 compatible of course), it will give you much better consistency from shot to shot as well as reduction (if not elimination) of liquid Co2 in the marker. Also, X-chambers are useless if and when you switch to comp. air. The stabilizer on the other hand (like any reg) will also improve shot to shot consistency when using HPA. Hope that was helpful ![]() Edited by Ilford Rule - 26 January 2007 at 11:31pm |

Ilford is right about an expanion chamber's stages...that's also decent advice about a Stabilizer, but a little exaggeration. Having a regulator on your gun will help, but won't elimate the risk of liquid CO2 entering the gun. The only absolute sure solution to having liquid enter the gun is not using liquid in the first place. However, Tippmanns are sturdy guns, and a little liquid entering the valve won't reek havoc like it would on an Automag.
But most of all, if you don't even know what a product DOES, then why do you feel that you need it on your paintball gun??? Edited by Shub - 27 January 2007 at 12:16am |
