When I pulled up to campus this morning, it was scampering down a hill. It started going under cars and eating the acorns that got broken up by the tires.

It was really chubby and didn't have a beaver's tail.

Best guesses from asking and looking at the Internet are marmot or groundhog.

hahahaha....

Yeah, that is a ground hog.

They can get very mean when cornered. Their teeth are super long and sharp too.

I shot one that was living under my porch from my dining room table a few weeks back...

They tremble at my name...

They espeically seem to like areas near water. There is a bike path close to here that runs next to a river, and it is swarming with them about this time of year. I guess they are scrambling to fatten up for hybernation.

Here in NY the backyard is a 'woodchuck' haven, the bassets now even ignore them. I pop em with a .22 or for fun the .54 Sharps just because of the threat of rabies. You have never lived till you see a .54 bullet slam into a woodchuck....Strawberry Fields forever....

Those things did thousands of dollars worth of damage to my grandparents barn by undermining the foundation, you should have punted it. My best/worst idea was funneling gas into a hole and lighting w/ a rag on a stick, the vapor filled the massive tunnel complex, and flames shot out of unexpected places, it shook the ground pretty well.

Rednekk, is your real name "Carl Spackler" by any chance?

Their fur makes for surprisingly comfortable gloves, and coat liners. The groundhog fur industry has become surprisingly significant - and contentious - in Ontario's economy since the auto manufacturers downsized. Huge export market.

Bri . . . every time I see your sig I think that the word "fetus" needs to be thrown in there right after "whale."
