It's not a direct "bolt-on" upgrade, but there are several ways to do it with the addition of a few extra parts and a different hose.

I ran a vertical reg on on one my 98s a few years ago and used a piece like the one below to screw the reg into the valve. (I just removed the gas line and attached this piece to the valve.)
You can't use the reg as a grip because it would place to much stress on the valve but it worked for my purposes. Not having a Carver to play with I would have to guess (based on pics) that the fit might be tight because the Carver trigger guard seems to be bigger than the one on the 98. Oh yeah, I ran macroline from the ASA to the reg. Edited Addition: Another problem is I don't know if the Carver uses a threaded valve like the older 98s or the new compression fit. If it is the compression fit, this obviously would not work. (I tried looking at the schematic, but just wasn't sure.) You could still probably run an inline one. You might even be able to mount it on one of the rails using a scope ring, but I think any inline one would look tacky. Edited by Mack - 28 December 2010 at 11:23pm |
