For whatever reason, I'm bored enough to respond to this.
Because despite our self-centered view that the entire world operates just like us, there are plenty of third-world countries out there that don't have the military to stop religious/political extremists from murdering innocent people.
Phrased like a true pacifist. Which is admirable, but unfortunately your view of "bombs and babies" doesn't work. The government makes alot of effort to keep kids from starving. However, you can't abandon all military strategy for any one effort, no matter how humanitarian.
"...WHEN WE NEED IT THE MOST." I think I speak for everyone when I say, "WTF?" America is one of the most prosperous nations on earth-and the efforts to fix hunger in other countries are for the most part UN efforts-which means it's a collaberation.
Because without homeless people there would be nobody for me to paintball on weekends. I'm kidding.
