i am asking for a hopper for christmas i want a halo b action village seems to have 3 choices, normal halo b: $98 with rip drive: $103 with rip drive and v35 board: $140 so i need to know what the difference is between each and which one is the best. also is an empire b better? also, how is the halo activated? is it by sound like the empire? and the empire seems to hold 20 extra balls. The Halo is not activated by sound. I would go with the Halo B w/ rip drive. I havent heard much about the v35 board and you probably wont be shooting fast enough to need it.

Halo Bs work in this fashion: There is a set of eyes (bounce beam, but theres 2 eye sensors) that sit in the raceway. These watch the stack, and when the stack moves (ie, a ball has been fired, and gravity pushes a ball into the breech) the eyes send a signal to the board and tell it to spin the motor and thus rewind the drive spring, putting another ball in the queue and keeping tension on the stack. Empire Bs and B2s do not have eyes, but instead they have a microphone on the board that hears the gun fire, and then performs the motor spin operation like the Halo. B2s are more sensitive to quiet guns than the B. B2 also has adjustable speed settings. I prefer the B over anything less than a Cheetahd or Angried Halo. I have not used a B2, but it is very similar to the B, but faster and more adjustable. The Rip Drive Halo is the same as a regular Halo but has a longer drive shaft that facilitates the implementation of a manual feed wheel that will allow you to unjam and manually feed balls if your batts die or if you just dont want to waste power at the chrono. V35 boards work the same as a stock Halo board, but have 6 speeds, ranging from 17 to a mythical 35 bps. Other than the speeds, it is the same as the stock board. High settings eat batteries like candy, though. Reloaders have the same shells as Halos, and do not hold more than their counterpart. If you get a Reloader, you can put a Halo board (cheetah, angry, v35) in it, and all you need to do that is an eye harness. My hopper was once a Reloader B, but I got wallet happy and totally pimped the crap out of it with Halo stuff. Still have the Reloader shells though. Don't worry about outrunning your Karni with any Halo based loader. Any more questions? Edited by hybrid-sniper - 02 December 2006 at 1:58am |

yea, v35 only offers feedrate changes. it has 6 different modes 17-35 bps. it also eats batteries. i own a halob/rip/v35. i like it. i say go for one. it should suit you just fine.

Somewhat of a bloated/over hyped problem, but yes. Cheetahs are the best at detecting black or clear paint. |

TAG doesn't make Cheetahs anymore, so you'd have to find one used. Be wary of the new V3s, because they can be blenders. Try to stick with a V2, which might be cheaper as well. The Reloader B would be more than sufficient, though, so don't go all out if you don't have the need. Edited by hybrid-sniper - 02 December 2006 at 1:56pm |

ABout 6 cases for the Cheetah, maybe a little more on the Reloader depending on the speed it's on.
