Hockey

Is cool. Saw my first game in A LONG time at the Verizon center in DC. The Capitals lost 2 - 0 but it was still fun to watch. I won a Tshirt and everyone got flags for fan appreciation day. In short, I think I am going to start watching more hockey.

Its baseball season.

Good time to start watching. Playoffs are here.

I played for 13 years. It got to be more of a job than fun, so I quit when I was a junior in high school.

Definitely a great sport. I've been thinking about getting back into it and playing pick-up games, but I doubt that's going to happen.

Actually, most of my gear lives in the trunk of my car. The 'cocker is currently in the back seat. Nelly is in pieces (having been stripped and RE-Painted due to scratching) in the gun bag in the trunk, and the 'trix is in the marker bag in the front seat.... got a few '98's I'm doing repair jobs on in the house, but that's not the good stuff.

This is a little off base, but I think MLB playoffs and the NCAA Men's basketball are both considerably more intense than hockey. When your championships are hanging on just one pitch, or your deep run in March are dependant on one defensive stop. Also, every play in an Alabama football game is more intense than hockey.

I do think that my (and a good portion of the country's0 lack of interest in hockey is a direct result of regional exposure. If it's a place where there isn't ice, no one plays hockey. Nobody played hockey, so no one has interest.

I'll take hockey over baseball, hands down.

I actually saw part of a lacrosse game while in DC. It was interesting to watch. However, I wasn't dressed for the weather so I didn't stay very long.
