Do you have warranty on your gun, because if so send it back before buying a new one. Have you tried taking it to a pro shop to get it fixed? I would do all of this 1st before buying a new one.

well my warranty ran out but how much do u think they would charge for fixing it because i think the problem is with the power tube so yea im kinda worried itll end up costing more than the gun itself... and thanx i appreciate the reply

Wha? New powertube costs maybe about $20. Where is it leaking? We can probably help you fix it... |

Here is a stock tippmann power tube. There are other power tubes out there that are alluminum instead of plastic. As long as you don't try to tighten your bolts as much as possible, you won't strip anything. |

Hm. Let's see here. First, let's establish parts. Internally, there are 4 main parts: The bolt, the power tube, the hammer and the valve. These aren't all the parts, but thes are the main ones. Can you ID each part? If the air is leaking out of the front of the powertube as you say, it sounds like an o-ring in the valve is busted. Are you able to take the valve out of the power tube? If so, can you get some pics or an accurate description? |

Well, if you look on the side of the right body shell, there are two screws where the power tube and valve are bolted in. These are Lock-Tited on, so they may be difficult to remove. After that, the power tube should just pull out. Edit: BE VERY CAREFUL when re-tightening these screws. The metal in the valve is very soft, and is easily stripped. Also, you will have to re-seal the threads of these two screws, or your 98 will leak. I used blue (the non permanent) Lock-Tite, but if you can find small teflon tape, that should work too. Yeah, they were locked in there with thread sealer. If all the screws and bolts are removed, then the power tube should just pull out. It does take some effort though. On the same side as those two screws, there's a plastic "plug." That's a little extension on the tube that holds it in place. You have to pull the power tube out of that, so be careful not to break it.

Insert the eraser or flat end of a pencil into the thin end of the tube, and it should just pop out.

Well, are there any broken, sheared or cracked o-rings?
