Grats on the accomplishment. I wasn't too surprised by the decision.

He didn't deserve it. If Colt Brennan was written off as a system quarterback, why does Tim Tebow get a free pass? Darren McFadden deserved it. He has been the best player in the country for the past two years.

Why the hell do people like Colt so much? I live in Hawaii and don't understand. He plays in the WAC conference, the hardest game they played all year was Boise State. The even had to go into overtime with San Jose State. Tim Tebow made all his accomplishments in the SEC, hands down hardest conference in college football. You can make the argument that Colt can't help his conference, but he could before he accepted the Hawaii QB spot. He's good, but nowhere near as tested a Tebow. |

I was rooting for McFadden, especially since he gave us an open door to the national title/Fiesta Bowl. You can't argue with his consistent high yardage.

I was rooting for McFadden. He pretty much beat LSU by himself. He did amazing, even though I was rooting for LSU.

McFadden deserved it more than Tebow.
Hell, Kevin Smith from UCF deserved more of a nomination than Tebow. I dare say rushing for 2,448 yards for 114 points in a single season is Heisman nomination worthy. Of course he didn't even break the top 5 in votes because he is not in the precious SEC. |

I don't think there is a "hardest conference." I think each conference has its major contenders, and that each conference is good in its own group. |

I don't like Colt. I was just saying that if he's written off as a system QB, people should also look at the system Timmy Tebow plays in. If you looked at my sig you would see that I don't need convincing as to what the best conference in the country is. LSU will display this fact yet again on January 7th. To Whale, I hope you are being sarcastic because the SEC is far and away the best conference in the country. Darren McFadden played against competition LIGHT YEARS better than what Kevin Smith played against. The SEC is the NFL Light, whereas the C-USA is lucky to get a couple players drafted each year. Not to detract from Smith's accomplishments, because over 2,000 yards is highly impressive. To even argue that the SEC isn't the best conference in the country shows either bias or complete ignorance. My Heisman ballot would've looked something like this: 1. Darren McFadden 2. Tim Tebow 3. Dennis Dixon 4. Matt Ryan 5. Glenn Dorsey My argument against Tim Tebow is against his SYSTEM, not his talents. Sure, he is one of the most athletic players we have ever seen, likely the best dual threat QB ever. However, his 51 TDs (29 passing, 22 rushing) were a result of the system. 15 of his 22 rushing TDs were under 5 yards. Every time the Gators got to the goal line, they called Timmy's number. Also, I think supporting cast needs to be taken into account. Tebow has Percy Harvin, Andre Caldwell, Brandon James, and other phenoms around him. Look at UF's roster and you see talent from top to bottom. Look at Arkansas' roster. Darren McFadden, Felix Jones (back-up to DMAC), and several very good lineman. That's it. No hot-shot QB or all-world receivers. Arkansas' 8-4 record isn't all that impressive, but McFadden had to do it against 7-8 guys keying in on him on almost every play. Tebow had a slew of receivers and backs he could dump the ball off to. McFadden would lower his shoulders and do it himself. With all that being said, I expect Tim Tebow to win the Heisman at least one more time, because he will definitely be a 4-year player for the Gators. I'm glad Florida doesn't rotate onto Alabama's schedule until after he is gone, because he scares the living hell out of me. |

I think that's why Tim got it over Mcfadden. The dual threat is the main reason alone is half the Florida wins. In my mind, the Heisman is the most dynamic and beneficial. Did Tebow get some brownie points because he's young? Of course, I'm not naive, but which team stands to lose more games? Florida without Tebow or Arkansas without Mcfadden? It's a coin toss, but I'm taking Tebow. And I'm not even arguing the Kevin Smith idea, the only reason something that thoughtless came out was because you go to UCF. You don't see Apu on here whining about a certain someone from WV not even getting acknowledged. |

Or because he is the top rusher in the country... Also, I do think you kindly missed the part where I said McFadden deserved it. |
