CNN at it's best. I don't care if you are Conservative OR Liberal, this was very bad reporting. |

Why?
Fox is right wing coservative network. They also HIGHLY promoted the tea parties yesterday. It was like 24/7 coverage. Their "reporters" were not reporting on anything. Sean Hannity was pretty much leading the damn rally that he was at. Oh and for the record, you always piss me off but I don't say it to you. Edited by jmac3 - 16 April 2009 at 10:56pm |

Sean Hannity isn't a reporter he is a host, and excuse fox for not talking about Obama or his dog for 24/7.
It just amazes me how you could agree with someone who can't do their job. Edited by Rofl_Mao - 16 April 2009 at 10:58pm |

It was pretty shoddy reporting. If you're gonna ask a question live, damned well have the courtey to let the man speak.
If you want to cut and choose soundbites, record them for later broadcast.

I don't care about Obama or his dog. Anyone that does care about his dog is retarded. I only half pay attention to politics for the laughs.
Also, Fox does talk about Obama like 24/7.They talk about how the world is going to end because he is president. They talk about how DHS reports that he didn't write and were started under Bush are somehow him tying to control everyone. EDIT: Did I agree with the woman not letting the man speak? No. I said she is right on her rant about it being mostly a right wing, fox promoted, rally. Edited by jmac3 - 16 April 2009 at 11:01pm |

She was being antagonistic. I don't care about a journalist' views on something. Unless they are writing an editorial, their opinion needs to stay OUT of the story. That goes for FOX, CNN, MSNBC, Al Jazera, and ALL news networks.

It isn't a double standard. CNN and MSNBC may lean to the left, but they don't go out and slam on republicans for stupid things that aren't even an issue.
In fact right now I am going to turn on Fox and then CNN and MSNBC and see what each is talking about. |

CNN: Talking about Obama being in Mexico and the killings that happened right before he got there. Talking about what he spoke about.
MSNBC: Talking about investigations of war crimes by I believe the US. Fox: O'reilly said "Americans prefer fox news' coverage". How Obama is offering an "Entitlement culture" "Nanny Sate" Still talking about how Obama got elected in. His guest said "The Obama debt." I have to give it to O'reilly though THIS time for at least correcting him and saying it is also the "Bush Debt". Still talking about people voting for him for entitlement. She is an idiot. if she was going to act like that then maybe she should've asked for the day off and went down there to argue, instead of doing it on the live nationwide media channel she works for. not proffessional reporting at all

Word. I for one thought it is amazing that someone can fail so hard as Rofl-Mao does and get called on it less. |

That was terrible reporting, no better than what I would expect out of fox news anyways... It really doesn't matter who it is, all the major American news networks do a pretty crappy job of reporting. |

Jmac3: Two wrongs do not make a right, especially in journalism.
What this woman did was not called for and not professional and should not be done by a reporter under any circumstances. There is a difference between having hard-hitting follow up questions and what that video displays. "Because Fox News does it" is not an excuse. They are no parameter to judge things like this, as they have completely disregarded and trampled any sense of objectivity. They are no longer a news agency. If anything reporters should strive to be as much unlike them as they possibly can. That's why behavior like this is not acceptable under any circumstances. |

Amen to that. Not to hop very long on my soapbox, but when the newspaper print medium dies and slowly becomes reborn as an online-based medium, you are going to see a SHARP decline in news quality in this country. Newspapers have consistently set the bar for quality, and are always ranked as being the most objective and trustworthy source. I think it will work its way back to this while being online eventually, but it is going to be a scary time in the meantime. |
