At a minimum we should send in a couple of divisions of Marines, and order up some air strikes.  The collateral damage should be at an acceptable level, I would think.

I dont see how shooting a cop in the head because someone was about to get caught looting can be considered "personal survival".

way to skew things out of proportion OS as usual.

Iraqi insurgents are organized somewhat. A majority are suicide bombing for their religious warlords.

However, people in New Orleans, having been deprived of food and water for several days now, are starting to go out of their minds.

Of course this is not all cases. We don;t know what those people were thinking this morning firing at helicoptors. They may have thought they were just getting the choppers attention to get rescued next.

So don't start jumping to label people until you have the full story.

In his first post, OS appears to be focusing, at least in part, on survival, which generally considered a reasonable excuse for questionable behavior.  In the next post, the "survival" is gone, and it is now all about selfish criminal behavior, which is not reasonable at all.

Whatever analogy OS was trying to make (which isn't quite clear), it is muddied by the inconsistent standards applied.  I am not entirely certain what point OS was trying to make in this thread, and I am further confused by this apparent shift in logic.
