Well i was set to go into Army basic training in August, and from the time I signed the initial paperwork (nothing is final until the day you leave for basic, when you sign the bottom line)ive been looking into the Airforce, and have decided to void my contract with Army, and join up with the Airforce. I havent picked my job yet, i need to do it, but i have a few in mind. I think overall the Airforce will be a better choice in the long run. Also they will take care of me and my family better than any other branch. So hopefully it all works out...

FWIW, I've enjoyed being an army reservist in an infantry regiment. That said, I am in Canada, not the states. Still the cameraderie is just a lot closer when you're training to fight, not do some support trade.

Well ile have more for you tomorrow. But dude, you got an inteligence MOS? You start your MOS in like July. You have 5 months of training. Wich will be PRICELESS. The MOS you chose gives you a TS clearence, when you get out of the army, ANYONE will hire you. The AIT you will get also counts as college credits to an AA. The army has EarmyU. In your MOS. You will make rank QUICK. Edited by DBibeau855 - 29 March 2006 at 10:58pm |

If you want ranger. Start training now. You need to be able to run 5 miles. Each mile needs to be under 8 minutes.
Your going to colleges depends on what you want out of the army. Is it a stepping stone to another career or are you going career. If you are going to career, be an officer. If not, go enlisted, if you go enlisted, it IS possible to become an officer. And if you dont want to go to school while your in the army, you can always drop a packet and go warrant. You can always drop a packet. |

The army seems like the "cooler" decision but in the long run the air force is much better and will take better care of you
You can choose the tempting one or the smart one but the choice is yours |

Hell, that's only 8km. Not much of a run. I thought the rangers did more than that? |

It all depends on what he wants. The navy pays more. But the army will give him more skills later.
He got an inteligence MOS. If he goes into the army, knocks out his training, does all that. Once he gets out, CIA, NSA, OGA, FBI, US. Marshals. They will all want him. Edited by DBibeau855 - 29 March 2006 at 11:16pm |

Miles are longer than kms. And each mile has to be under 8 minutes. The training is very tough. |

Dude, if he goes army, he wont stay there, no way, he will get out and any agency, providing he has a good record will give him a GS-14 off the bat. |
