My latest project. Great conversion kit from opsgear.
The object at the left side of the tri-weaver rail is a flashlight. If you want more photos, or a complete review, let me know here. I would like to say that the parts came in on Friday afternoon and I had the entire thing completed within 30 minutes. Say what you want about OpsGear but they make good products in my opinion and they get them to you on time. They are of good quality and above all, they look great! If you'd prefer to use parts for airsoft guns, then that's great, go for it. ![]() Edited by nauzerlvr |

I put the 14" sniper barel on at lunch today.... i haven't
used it yet but it really improved the overall look of the project since the barrel has the "flash surpressor" built in to it and it's longer. I haven't tested the barrel yet but will do so this evening. I also added a laser to the barrel. I shoot some photos this evening and post them tomorrow...i might add that this is the same stock (repainted) from the camo gun in the "New A-5 Project thread." My hat's off to Opsgear on this one. the conversion parts went on without a hitch!!!!! and they're right, it's VERY sturdy! |

Wait. You bought add-on parts from Opsgear? Not cool. Where are the people like jefangel and thompson shooter who take parts from like airsoft guns and actually challenge themselves to make stuff? Gr... I hate opsgear. |

Problem with going "cottage industry" is people rip
your heart out and then feed it back to you!!! so what's the point? Why re-invent the wheel? |

I've pulled parts from Airsoft (many sources), JCS, OpsGear and real
military surplus (my foregrips are real AR15/M16 mounts) and honestly,
if it looks good and you like it, I say roll with it. Regardless of
where it came from.
Personally, I'm no gunsmith but I want a cool looking gun (which I'm working on). Should I HAVE to scour the internet for parts that I MIGHT could use on my marker? Nope. But I do poke around in Military surplus and gun shows for the stuff. Sites like OpsGear just make it easier to find what we want. To the folks that machine their own parts and do prefab work to come up with something new, KEEP ON! I love seeing that stuff. Just make sure that when it gets mass produced that the price point stays affordable. ![]() |

Yeah, G36s rock. I got a G36 handguard that I made for my 98. I have no money so I have to make all the parts which I guess is half the fun. Gun looks good, but as said before, if you have money, anyone can do it. Still pretty sweet.

This shot shows the new tri-rail that Opsgear is
offering. Note, it won't work on the A-5 without some milling work or mounting it on another weaver rail.
i agree with you guys, manufacturing your own parts is fun and lots of times I will scour the gun shows here for stuff I can put to use, like the M4 carrying handle on one of my other projects. Then you'll use something and someone will flame you because i'f not an accurate piece from an actual weapon. I just don't get that. I built this one to be a replica and ot a hybrid because the G-36 is my favorite weapon. |

looks cool.
but buying stuff from opsgear isnt a "project" making stuff, and using airsoft stuff is called a "project" |

BTW a "project " is also defined as a "planned
undertaking." What's the difference is using something manufactured for an airsoft piece and using something manufactured for paintball? I fail to see the difference. |
