speedball or woodsball? ive played both but speedball is for kids i think. theres no rhyme or reason. just point and let them fly .. full auto and go through 1000 balls in 3 hrs. i play very intense games of seek and destroy. and capture flag in the swamps of south florida with an elite group of players. were all military trained. rangers,special forces,seals,special opts,and even an ex fbi agent. when we play a typical game of 8 on 8 or 10 on 10 it lasts about 2 hrs and you shoot on average of 30 to 40 shots a game. its like chess very tatical and very organizied. you dont fire unless u have a clean shot for fear of giving up your position. i would like to know what other people think is a better game. speed or woods. i guess it will also tell me how intense others here are too. and if anyone is in southwest fla. and wants to play email me and well set it up. very serious players only..tell me what you guys think of woodsball compaired to speedball

We play elimination woodsball mostly. theres only a couple of older guys, one who was in the navy. Theyre all about camo, and reticule me for wearing black or anything flashy. it can be 15 minutes before anything happens from the start of a match. we stick with a couple other guys and face another smal group. those moments are exhilerating and fun, but sometimes i wont even see any action in a match. Speedball is a little more than "point and shoot". Its way more fast paced, close quartered, pinning guys down while guys move into key spots. U can be stealthy depending on where/how many guys there are. No shrubby gets inthe way of shots. But i like woodsball a little better. |

i play with ussally 9 others and all of us are military trained sometimes its an hr. before any action starts with us . but its very serious if you get shot you die!!!! its like a training senario for real life situations |

i was in saudi in 1990 S/F US army. woodsball is the only thing close to the rush of combat that i have found in my whole life even better then running 9s in the 1/4 mile cause i do that too. the feeling of killing and suriving the game is awsome

there is a condemed apt. complex in miami that we are planing a close quarters urban assult game its gonna be hott . thers like 45 apts. in this building. im sure its bum infested . so there will be frendlys too we will have to play smart. its gonna be the best thing ever yet urban battlezone

ok, my biased opion out of the way i can see both the appeal for the woodz and for speed/tourney ball. woodz ball yes there is tactics and stuff but it is not real, you said you played with military trained ppl, well i bet i could beet an ex navy seal in a game of woodz even though i dont play woodz because paintball is nothing like real guns. if you guys are sneeking around with your camo and scopes i could stand at the end of a field and yell at you guys and you could do nothing paintballs just dont have the range or accuracy that real guns do. with that being said i find it verrrrry childish to play pretend and try to act like you in a war now tourney ball is in fact a sport. its not trying to be anything but itself, its own sport. Alot of woods ballers say you just shoot tons of paint at a bunker and hope you hit them. WRONG you know that hopper of paint i shot down my lane at the bunker across field?, well not a single ball was actuly ment to hit the person in that bunker. it was ment to keep him from peeking that way so he couldnt shoot at my front play in the snake. now those are tactics. so both woods ball and speed ball have tactics. and while the tactics may range from sneaking and being unditected to laneing, sliding and penatly killing, there both infact tactics theres alot more i could type but my fingers are getting tired so i dont think i will.

frog you stand in a feild and yell and your getting shot!!!! by the men flanking around you or the group advancing on to you. giving up your position before getting a kill shot is very dangerious range and accuracy is everything you must know your limitations and use them to your advantage. men posted in cirtin positions all over the playing ground makes for a very serious war and it is war kill or be killed..... as for beating an ex seal you got brass balls to say that. these guys are trained and live to win in no win suitations. very smart players come and play with us sometime if your as good as you say id love to have u on the feild with me

that was kinda my point. they can shoot at me from across the field but they wont hit me. paintballs are to inacruate and not good enough range. and as for the flanking team, yes that could get me but thats not what i was trying to say. Paintball is AWESOME no matter if your in the woodz or in an airball field its still a great game/sport |

Along with what Frog said, comparing speedball and woodsball is like
comparing a banana to a 2x4, its not easily done. Most aspects that
is atleast. Speedball is a fast paced game, with many tactics
poeple dont know about. Hell, im still learning stuff about it
everytime i play. There is lane shooting, snap shooting,
bunkering, playing the snake, shooting off the break. While at
the same time woodsball has many tactics. I have no problem with
woodsball, i enjoy both but i am mainly a speedball player. Now,
paintball is paintball. Its like baseball and softball, the same
but different. Now please, do not just come in here and start
saying "oh speedball sucks because you dont shoot anyone, you just
shoot a case a game". That is not what we do at all. We may
shoot alot of paint, but it is used effectively such as lane
shooting. I do not care if you come in here to promote woodsball
and say how much fun you have or how awesome it is, but do not put down
someone elses activies without atleast some common knowledge of it.

OK. Speedball owns woodsball. there is no point to having a bunch of people on a field camping with there flatlines. Woodsball= a bunch of campers. Now u said u have a car that runs 9's. what is it and whats it got. |

Speedball > woodsball god it makes me so mad when noobs say that all speedball is is "spray and pray" geez there are soooo many more tactics in speedball that most people think. yeah sure i mean the backman have to go through alot of paint because they lay down so much cover fire. i mena in speedball, its a pure adrenaline rush, not like hour games where you try to pick people off from super dooper distances. i mean sure woodsball is kinda fun but speedball is superior to it. there aint no big money tourneys for woodsball b/c it is not really fun to watch, who would want to watch something an hour or more long and in 5 minits there is a big firefight, and the games over. whell to make things simple, SPEEDBALL RULES!!!!

There may not be as much money involved, but there are so huge scenario games. (IE D-Day). I can't stand people who put down woodsball or speedball. Those hour long games you speak of are pure adrenaline too, not know when something will come and where it will come from. Whether or not you will get picked off in the head from someone hiding in a bush or someone laying down 18BPS in a random direction for the hell of it, paintball is paintball. |

Someone help me with the name, you should know what im talking about... real guns, paint or wax bullets powered by gunpowder, accuracy of bullets, wont kill u but hurts a bit more than paintballs? I know people play with that. If i was an ex navy seal, paintball would seem like NERF ball, and i would get a buncha guys to play with the wax bullets. or am i just talking about something from a dream? |
