I'm most likely going to get the Tippmann A5. For the upgrades I'm
think about getting the E-Grip, the Mp5 stock, and I am not sure about
the barrel it would be greate if people with expierence can suggest
which are better and what not to get etc..Thanks

for all the things you want, why don't you wait and get the new tippmann 98 custom pro. All you would need to get is a new electric hopper.

get a bigshot or j&j ceramic barrel, generaly the higher the price the better the barrels get. i wonder what the new gun will look like? post more info if you can. |

I own a M98C and A5RT, and even taking price into consideration, the A5 is a better gun and better value...even for a new player.
Put it this way, the A5 is no more complicated than the M98C. If anything, it's simpler. But either way, this dude says he wants the A5, so he wants the A5 and not suggestions on what other gun to get. As for barrel, you CANNOT go wrong with a 12" beadblasted LAPCO Bigshot....they run about $55 and are worth every penny. Plus they look like they were actually made to look sweet on your A5! |

Zesty is right.
Also, the J&J Ceramic is a good barrel. If you want, you could try a Flatline. |

Go for the a-5. The egrip is also a good upgrade. For the barrel I suggest a Lapco Bigshot or J&J Ceramic.

What I tell everyone getting a new marker is to play with it completely stock (with the exception of an aftermarket barrel) at least once. Once you've played with a marker you get a better idea of what you want/need on it. The majority of the markers I use are set up for functionality as opposed to looks, but I have one model 98 that is set up to look "cool". It has the Armson Sniper F/X kit with the 12" barrel, the M4 foregrip and the M16 style front sight post and rear carry handle. I replaced the solid stock that came in the kit with a collapsible carbine stock. I used an adapter to mount a BSA 30mm red dot on top of the carrying handle. It has the Tippmann vertical mount kit for attaching a remote and a r/t installed. It looks cool, and with the souped up hopper, it puts out a lot of paint. But all of this comes at a price, and that price is weight and having to put up with an annoying remote line. It is the marker that everyone I know goes "oh, cool" when I break it out to play, but it is also the one I use the least for several reasons:
In relation to what you're thinking of doing, consider the following:

My first gun was a Spyder as well. I liked it and still have it. I would not recommend it for every newbie though. If you aren't mechanically inclined I'd flat out suggest you stay away from Spyders. I missed many a game fixing seals and trying to get it to shoot legal FPS in the Winter. I would suggest you go for the Tippmann 98c. It is a great marker and super easy to upgrade. My A-5 is a little bit more fussy than my kids 98c. Enjoy the game and keep your head down newb! |

The e-grip is a great addition to the A5. The barrel though is another matter. What style of game do you play? What type of paint do you use? Are you an aggressive player? Do you want a barrel that has great performance, accuracy, is quiet, or just looks cool? These are all questions that will need to be addressed when deciding on a barrel for the A5. In any case, you will have lots of fun with the A5. |

I would recomend against getting a stock. As for the barrel, most people get the lapco bigshot. |

Wrong! The A-5 is a great gun for the first time player that wants to buy a gun and start playing. I would never ever recommend a Spyder for a new player. First upgrade you need is a new barrell. Flatline is perfect for the woods, not so great for speedball. If ya dont want to spend the money on a flatline or plan on playing speedball get a 12-14" J-J ceramic or a Lapco Bigshot 12-14". You will need a lapco barrell adaptor for either of the later 2. The flatline ya just bolt in. Follow the install directions, it's easy. Have fun! |
