Well I play in vegas...and they have a few pretty good bunker fields here. Its not big....but big enough. I have my own paintball gun..except the problem is that it sucks as it is the old school brass eagle sting ray. I do better using the tippman 98 custom that they have at the rentals. Now i want to own my own tippman but need advice on the upgrades and what not. Chances are i'm going to be playing bunkers and not woods. Now you people say speed ball..i don't know what that means...
now i want to know what would be good....a custom pro or an A-5 ? what customizations are a must? an option? i thought about doing this :
custom pro: Must ; cyclone feed, e trigger, flatline barrel, response trigger kit. option; collapsible stock kit, comouflage graphics
a-5: Must; double trigger, e grip , flatline barrel, response trigger option; universal mount for drop forward, comouflage, collapsible stock kit. now this is just what i got from the accessory line from the site.
what do you guys suggest? |

ok you cant have E-grip and an RT (response trigger kit). I wouldn't go 4 the flatline mabe the bigshot. you need a new hoper. I dont think you should get collapsible stock kit or comouflage graphics. |

well you cant have both e grip and r/t I personally like my a-5 and you can own real good with it. You wont really need a camo job since you wont be in woods, that black is camo enough. You will have to get a new barrel and if you have the money go for the flatline, ive heard about that new apex barrel and theey say its really good, i like my big shot, j and j's r good, all americans are good too. all dye barrels are guaranteed good pretty much too lol |

Correct me if im wrong but you don't need a Response trigger and a E grip. (Go with the G grip/trigger). Another must would be HPA, Good stuff
. Welcome to the forums. Oh! and youll need some good equipment, Like a mask and stuff if you don't allready, And what we call speed ball it sounds like you call bunker, so same thing .

a minute behind the second 1, i think he means like wooden bunkers not like an airball field, with like towers and things, and yea...you can only have r/t or e grip and with egrip its almost a must to get double or blade trigger, i mean whats the point without it. Like we all said you wont need the camo on either, unless itll come stock with the gun.

thanks for the quick reply. well..since i'm new to paintball..most of your talk is still new to me. I play in a sort of a cage thing... with bunkers... sort of an outdoor arena.
the a-5 is good? sorry ..i didn't know you can't have both...so you would suggest E grip upgrade for a-5..?and then put a double trigger with that? Can you use that technique "walk" if you do this? Also...i saw some sniper barrels...i wouldn't think i need that since i'm playing bunkers....so flatline would be best? or is there better i can do? should i get universal mount for a drop forward for the a-5?
thanks. |

Don't get an A-5 for what you call "Bunkers" is speedball. The cyclone cant feed fast enough, and the A-5 is big. The 98 custom or the Pro E is the way to go. You will need a new barrel a J&J ceramic 14" or a Lapco Bigshot. A dropforward, (If you get the Pro E, it already comes with one) A fast hopper say An Egg ( evolution 2 viewloader) Or a Halo. Ask your local field it the resposne trigger is allowed. that will make your gun shoot alot faster. After that you should just get HPA ( high pressure air ) AKA nitrogen. This is alot better then C02. Well that should cover the surface of it. Good luck. And welcome to the forums! Fell free to PM me with any questions. Also do not get the flatline for what you are playing.

the stuff is not tippmann, the "eggy" is a viewloader evolution hopper and would go on the custom pro (98 custom that can get an egrip and comes with drop forward and is just better) but i dont think you would be needing more than 18 bps for what it sounds like your playing. So yes a cyclone would do you some justice so you could get the a-5.

I mean the custom Pro E, and the barrels are a different company, not tippmann. And the hoppers. Edited by TippmannPro13 |

Do not get the Cyclone! Get the egg or the Halo they are very fast at loading. The barrels are both cheap and accurate. And what is an "E trigger"?

O..i was wondering..what is the difference between response trigger and that e trigger....? I know the e trigger is electronic and you set 5 different rate of fires....but what does the response do?

It increases your Rate of Fire. You sweet spot it to how fast you want it to shoot. Like say you pull the trigger and anywhere from 1 to 5 balls can shoot. But you adjust it however you want. Its really nice. But some fields don't allow it, so you should ask where you play if it's allowed before you buy it. I would definatly but it if its allowed. I have one and its awesome.

well. starting with the hoppers .... I believe the evo 2 i've tried it the last time i played paintball..my friend let me use his ion..and he had the same looking hopper on it. It has a switch on it...however...i thought the way the hopper opened wasn't that good...cause i was flinging the gun around...and the hopper poped opened. now for the halo..there are a few halos on here..which one? http://www.actioncenterpaintball.com/store/SearchResult.aspx ?CategoryID=10
