I've read in some other Paintball forums that Tippmann is going to no longer be made in the USA! Is this true?

NASA and the Americans spent millions of dollars and hundreds of hours to develop a pen that would write in space.....The Russians used a pencil.

So do I. If they're worried about increasing their net income (by
decreasing their costs of production), maby they should release a new
gun (not the Custom Pro), that would get people buying their stuff
again (what I mean, is that there are soooo many 98's around, most
people probably just buy used, and don't bother buying new. I know I
did).

the sad fact is a 98 c cost $130 when guns like the ion are getting cheaper. the ion is probably made overseas (does anyone know for sure) i think Tippmann is going to have to come up with a equal gun (price and performance) to compete. i know alot of people don't like ions but lets face it they are a bunch better than a Tippy for not alot more.

Im not sure what they would send overseas. Their production line is very small 20-30 people tops.
The rest are people pushing boxes. |

^^ Then you probably don't have too much stuff, as just about
everything is made in China.....unless of course you're refering to
high priced stuff, like paintball guns, electronics......
And I thought SmartParts was also one of these companies that built exclusivly in the US. If so, then the Ion would be built in the US. |

no it dosen't equal out chinamen will work for a couple bucks a day! why would all the other companies go to China for their labor? that's why raw materials cost so much because China is expanding so fast they are buying alot of it and driving the prices up in the states |

I am not saying that it equals out for ALL products, but the shipping back to the US and the amount of money it would take to export all production equipment to china would even out in the short term. But it might make for cheaper production in the long term. You would hav eto worry about some retarded chinaman putting somthing together wrong and having the marker blow up in your face.

It was foundered and the headquaters are in America. But I believe that most SP factorys are in China and other countrys. Most products now a days are imported. Very few things are really "made in america" now. |
