ok im thinking about taking my 98 custom and buying a composite material stock for a bolt action rifle. i am going to design the 98 custom in autocadd and see how i can make it fit into the stock. I do not want it to be a pistol grip stock. I will make the trigger like the trigger on a normal rifle. i am planing on doing that by makeing my own electronic trigger (cost under $25 for parts). i want to get or make bolt action parts, but use the bolt action to store a 12 gram co2. So instead of the bolt action feeding rounds, i want to seal it off and make it feed co2. I was thinking that i could probably make a adapter that looks like a 12 gram co2, but will let the Co2 pass threw the bolt action part, to alow the use of a 4oz-9oz co2 tank in the stock. as for ball loading, i would pretty much seal off the old hole in the 98 custom, and cut off the front handle. i was planning on making it feed paintballs from the bottom, i would use something like the spring powered tubes used in the long bow sniper (made by spec ops). if anyone has any suggestions, or has done this before, please let me know. also if anyone would like to help with with metal smithing that would be great. i am a poor 16 year old with huge ideas, and i have little money for the cost of milling and also little access to machinists. if i can make my 98 custom a "sniper look", and once its perfected, i am planning on moding other peoples 98 customs if they want.
thanks josh |

I'm impressed you are actively pursuing this. Almost everyone just says "We should do this" and don't have any plans of doing it themselves. So, props if you can make it work. Good luck. |

lol no a qloader is way tooo much money, plus it would take away the look of a real gun. i think i will use a 10-20 round clip that slids in right under the barrel. i have not desided on the size yet, but i dont not want to make the clip any longer 14 inches.
do you guys think that i could finnish this project with out spending major amounts of money? i want to try and do this for relitively cheap. if anyone would like to either contribute money, time, or machine skills, please let me know. contact me at Farmboystrong@aim.com
in about 1 week or whenever i get some CAD pictures of the 98 itself i will post them. Then once i get that i will start trying to figure out how to drop it into a stock and make it look like a real gun. Edited by K1LL3R_A-5 |

mill out the stock your going to use for the body to fit most of the 98, and also cut and mill off the pistol grip of the 98 so that all but a small amount is left that will hide in the stock. leave the trigger alone and have it come out the bottom of the stock like an actual rifle would. run a long hose through a drilled hole in stock for remote line, and up to the connection in front of the trigger of the 98.

You'd better know aloooot about all you just said or you'll end up with a pretty messed up 98...
I thought about trying the clip/forgrip idea once, but I have no milling equipment. GO FOR IT !! |

if i were to cut the grip off the 98 and drop it into a milled out stock, wouldnt that put the trigger in an odd spot? im trying to make the gun just as long as a real rifle. i dont want a sort version, so i would make an electronic trigger for under $25. then i could rig that up to a real rifle trigger. then i could just run the wires to the Solinoid and put that were ever it needs to be to fire the gun. i Just need someone with a bolt action rifle to let me know if there would be enough room to bore it out and put a 20-21 mm 12 gram CO2 in there.

my dad owns his own shop and works with metal all the time....just thought i would let you know, also my friend had an idea like this once....never went through with it though...(he has a TON of ideas 4 paintball....but in my opinion, most of them are too complex/expensive, i guess if you had money you could use do sum of his ideas.....such as the 1 where you point your gun at the target and it sets the velocity to the correct FPS required 4 shooting "x" distance) Edited by vonfeldt7 |

if you did as i described. cut the 98 pistol grip down to size to fit stock. Do not alter the trigger, if you mill out the stock right you should be able to drop the 98 in so that the trigger comes in the right spot. and as for running a hose through the stock you can use macro line to go up to the air fitting in front of the trigger and a air fitting in the rear of the stock. not that hard to do. if you dont under stand that maybe some one else could try to explaine that better for you. touchee that Edited by cv222005 |

you would not be able to mill out the rifle bolt, because it is not a single piece design, it is multiple parts with the firing pin assembly. It would be easier to run a gas line to the valve through the stock to a 12g quick changer. As for doing this for only a little money, do you realize how much a Composite Rifle Stock costs? |
