Hi, I am new to paintball but I've been researching some guns and I've come up with 2 different guns I wanna get. Here are 2 Marker Setups that I have in mind:

Tippmann 98 Custom Package Pro 9.2/10 on http://www.pbreview.com/products/reviews/421/
Lapco Big Shot 14" or should I get 8"
Maybe a red dot scope if its necessary...

BT B4-Assault 9.6/10 on http://www.pbreview.com/products/reviews/?year=&sort=mos t¡Ç=4001
Do I need any upgrades for this..?? But if I do please recommend some.

Which gun would you recommend that is better and has good peformance and accuracy?

Oh...way to kill my dreams lawl a little dissapointed because that the B4 looks a lot better and people rated it better. What upgrades do you recommend for the 98? Besides the lapco barrel I'm getting. I don't want that double trigger crap. I'd rather be sniping then that fastball.

EDIT: Can someone please reply I need to have a marker by next week.

The us-5 might be better than the 98, But the Tippmann A-5 beats em both hands down. The us-5 is just a cheaply copied version of the A-5.

Try to buy each part if possible. It might be a bit more expensive, but it's better to have a good mask than the one that comes with the package. Try and read on Pbreview about scott masks and see if it's good for you.

And also, look at the number of reviews for 98C's (2681 / 9.2) and BT4's (28 / 9.6). Which do you think is best?

K I'll buy them seperate. But I can I get a recommendation on the red dot scopes? I want one but not too expensive and what do I need like those weave rails which one do I need? Thanks. I think I might just get that vForce Armor its rated 8.9 and has lots of reviews and I think its fine. I am getting that lapco big shot barrel but what size is good? Thanks again. All this help is much appreciated.

if youre looking for a red dot go to a real firearms store. DON'T BUY ONE AT WALLMART. buy a dovetail mounted red dot so you don't need to buy a weaver rail. im not sure where you live but you can get a decent red dot for $60-80 canadian. But i personally prefer iron sights.

i wouldn't get that mask yes it is cheap but save up a bit more and get a better mask (as that one is not thermal just anti-fog coated) you should buy a really good mask even before that red dot.

i like my pcs 20/20 mask but it's a little expensive. ($70 CDN)

for barrel sizes most reccomend between 12 and 14 inches. big shot barrels are supposed to be really good.

i think i answered your questions. PM me if you want to know more.

it all depends on how much money your going to spend. It sounds like your willing to spend around 250-300 so if i were you I would get a Smart Parts Ion. I have a Model 98(not a custom) and its stock and im not happy with the accuracy. If i shoot at a wall it just goes all over the place. I know i need a new barrel but theres no point in upgrading it since its not a custom. So if you get an ion you have to have HPA which can get pricy, but on actionvillage.com they have a package with an ion and hpa for 300 which is what im getting so i would get that if i were u

A-5 for starter, DO NOT GET an Ion for a starter gun, To all new-comers I strongly recommend either a Tippmann or a Spyder, A-5's are easier to "dress up" then a 98 and I personally prefer it over a 98... so A-5! Us-5's are basically clones of the A-5 made by the makers of Piranha (PMI)

i feel that if you have never played paintball before, you should either rent, or get an under 80usd spyder/pmi. if you love it, then you can buy the a5, and have a cheap ass back up/loaner

It is cheap because it breaks. Yes, I have seen one, and it is a copy because it is an almost direct copy of a Tippmann A5 on the outside. And dont hand me that MP5 crap, The Tippmann A5 is based off of an MP5, the US-5 is based off of an A5.

^^^what he said

if you're compelled to own your own, get a 98c.  whoever said it wasn't accurate, doesn't know accuracy is in the barrel to paintball match, not the gun itself.  And almost every stock barrel is made cheaply and to be upgraded.
