There are currently five types of PepperBalls available: PepperBalls are made from a hard plastic that resists extreme temperatures. The powder-filled projectiles have an operating temperature range of -30°F to 150°F. Under standard conditions of heat and cold, the projectiles will continue to function reliably; however, it should be noted that using the projectiles in cold weather could result in an increased pain penalty. |

Haha just watched the WTO pepperball movie. Thats hilarious. Is a
pepperball any different from a regular paintball? Im pretty sure that it is just a normal paintball with pepper powder instead of paint. Anoyone know? |

Go to google, type in "WTO Pepperball" and click the Youtube video link of the WTO riots in Seatle. You can see tons of riot cops using pro-carbines for marking and pepper-dispersion. Fair warning, the song has some explicit lyrics that plays with the video.

ok but truthfully... who cares lol.. i agree with everythign thats been said. but when it boild down to paintball who cares... u wanna be a paintball sniper be a paintball sniper.. why is this really causing such an issue lol. in the real world... paintball "sniping" and real sniping are completely different. so i can understand why people are all "theres no paintball snipers ra ra ra". and i personally agree. the general idea of what a sniper is/does, simply cant be recreated with paintball equip. however. knowing that, if someone wants to play with the mentality of using "sniper tactics" as in keeping hidden.. one hit kill etc etc. for the thrill of playing with a more challenging or just different approach? good on them... they wanna be paintball snipers? awesome.. who cares what people call themselves?

"So by that definition, every person in every war past or present that has killed someone by only taking one shot is a sniper? Such as a grenadier who lobs a grenade into a building and kills someone with it?"
no look at statistics on how may rounds per kill in war, then you can understand what iam talking about, and how many of these one shot kills occured unseen and hidden, now a day even back then it was fire fights and trench warfare, everyone knew basic locations of enemy postions. and when people are getting shot at with an un known postions, its called sniper fire, no matter what gun the person is using. like when your walking down a street in a war and your opend up on and not knowing the postion they call it sniper fire. there is a reason for that, its a shooter shooting from a conceled location, but again i dont take sides on these stupid fights, half the people that argue it these days are little AGG mommy bought me my new dye kind of kids. who are proably like 13-16. whoe think volume is accuracy. |

"just cause it doesnt have a range of a gun doesnt mean they cant hit ya in one shot( I play SC so i know all about it), form a location unseen by others." So by that definition, every person in every war past or present that has killed someone by only taking one shot is a sniper? Such as a grenadier who lobs a grenade into a building and kills someone with it?
Because of the limited accuracy of a paintball gun, taking as few shots as possible before relocating is a poor strategy. Two balls have twice as much chance to hit the other guy as one. |

One, I hate that company already, two, how did this get to be a discussion about paintball snipers?, three, I believe in paintball snipers, not as a "long range, one-shot, one kill" kind of sense, but as an ambush, as little shots as possible, and relocate kind of sense. Everyone knows THAT can happen, so it's really just a term we are arguing over.

the whole conceled location shooting, at every scenario i go to, no one does its all baragge paint at eachother till someone is out, mmmm much like speedball, and no iam not agreeing or disagreeing with paintbal snipers, iam just saying, you cant use conceld location as a strike against it, and most certianly range, just cause it doesnt have a range of a gun doesnt mean they cant hit ya in one shot( I play SC so i know all about it), form a location unseen by others. which i think in definition is a sniper, and even the whole every ones gun fires the same range, cant use that either, and caue well in ww1 and 2 every one had bolt action and semi auto rifles that fired the same range, but not everyone was a sniper, only those who were better than others at shooting. again iam not siding iam just telling you how all your points are stupid and well if someone wants to be called a sniper let him he will probably out grow it. and i know my grammer sucks so if you want to use it against me be my guest. |

ALL paintballers "shoot from a concealed location." Even speedballers. What do you think we do? Stand out in the open, hoping to "Matrix" anything that comes our way? Dictionary null and void.

I have seen so many different definitions for a sniper on here so dont use that as proof that there are snipers in paintball. |

Just for kicks I called their 877 number and guess how much they wanted for the barebones "TAC-700" (A-5 in reality). They wanted $899.99!

sniper n. A skilled shooter detailed to spot and pick off enemy soldiers from a concealed place. ALSO sniper n : a marksman who shoots at people from a concealed place
Not the extreme long range snipers like you see in the movies, but any player that can conceal thenselves well enough to pick off an enemy without being spotted IS a sniper. In fact the definition says NOTHING about being able to shoot further than other people, just being able to pick off your opponents from a concealed position. I hate to dredge up the debate, but NOWHERE is is said that a sniper must shoot from an extreme distance. Only that they be concealed and accurate at the distance they plan to shoot from. Ever been shot by a guy you didn't see until AFTER he shot you? Guess what, you were sniped!!! Even if he WAS only three feet from you! (Over 10 feet suggested in reality of course, NEVER shoot anyone point blank) Anyone that thinks that it means some extreme distance should stop watching so many movies.
And oh yeah, you WILL get arrested if you shoot someone with those pepperballs. You have great trust (or are foolish) to shoot them at anyone, even on a "private" field. It is still illegal there and if someone wants to press charges, guess what, they will stick. Edited by RedDragon1313 - 23 September 2007 at 9:14pm |
