Exactly.  I like open class but have tried modified stock and am so far unimpressed.  (Modified stock = 12 gram and 13 round stick feed on my Hammer.)

I've never had the my 6 oz. blow a disk. 

I run a 6 oz.  on the Hammer, a 9 oz. on the SL 68 II, a 22 cu. in. on the Sniper and have a pair of 13 cu. in. tanks for the Phantom.

Well, for a convertable gun, I'd suggest the Sterling. The new Sterlings can be switched from stock class to open class.

I think it sounds like a good idea if you can change it to OC from SC. That's Probably what I'm going to do then.

ive heard that they blew disks quite a bit, tho's 6oz tanks are they a little bit better on the disk's?

meh, never go backwards from OC to SC it's really hard!. 
 
you could try and go with a SC gun, But having a marker that can do both will be nice too, it is easy to make a gun goto OC. but i rather play OC tho Tongue
 
if you want, go with a SC gun, then get what you want for parts later to make it OC. but if you dont want to go down this route, go with what detrevni seid.

Definitely no. I play it because I've played pump for a while. Using an open-class will "ease" you into pump play, where stock class is like trying to teach a kid to swim by tossing it in a lake. You either swim or drown. A LOT of Phantoms have been hitting the market recently because some people want to try pump. The jump for SC and hate it, so they turn their Phantom around and give up on pump all together. Sad really. 
 
Open class gives you more paint and air, and is similar to semi play, but with a pump. It will give you a better feel to see if you like it or not.

You can occasionally find the 3.5s on ebay.  There was a pump specialty store on line for a while that had them as well (sorry, can't remember the name), but they never answered their e-mail anyway.  I did not have a lot of luck with the 3.5s.  They kept blowing burst discs on me.  I finally got rid of all mine and don't use anything smaller than 6 oz. for CO2.  (And the 6 oz. tanks seem harder to find than the 3.5s.)

thats a sick phantom mack, and nice sniper looks vary clean. where can you get the 3.5 oz tanks nowadays?

The Phantom pic I promised kurieitaa.

Current (and probably permanent) configuration.  (Actually, I am incorrect ; I just remembered that I added a Frantom I barrel since this picture was taken.)



One of the other setups I tried but was not all that happy with.  (The weight distribution didn't feel right; I need to try the Q-loader on the Sniper . . . hmmm.)

Theoretically, you could probably mill a slot into the bottom of the FL housing and have a slide pin on the top of the pump handle that would fit into it. Seems like a waste of time though.

action village has some, price wise i dont know nothing about phantoms (other then there great pumps)...

the first pump i ever used was a brasseagle king cobra. nothing fancy but it got the job done.


I used a plastic walmart pump a friend bought as a joke. And the games that I played with it i had a ton of fun.

So I was just looking for some input on a good starter pump, as not to get carried away.

Edit: I think I may want to get a phantom, they're light-weight and I rarely go out with more than a hopper full. So that could be good. And they seem like a very solid reliable pump.

Now where should I try to get one for a good price?

i think that every pump player should have one, yea the brass ones are worth lots, i keep seeing the short barrel brass ones alot tho. i got my longbarrel aluminum body for 300 plus shipping ,but in the end i think it was worth the price, it is in allmost mint condition (few scratches), and for a 21 year old marker it still shoots great, reliable and accruate. cant go wrong with that.
