Yup, I was wondering when they would start going after those sites.

Always made me wonder about the legality of watching streaming movies though... I mean we technically aren't downloading it.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement? Well, as they are customs agents, they are within their authority to prevent the importation of illegal goods meaning that if the site is streaming from outside the US, then they get jurisdiction.

Athiests = moral...

stealing is moral, AMIRITE!

it's just a movie... No one spent millions making it, TO SELL THE RIGHT TO WATCH IT...

relative morality, you gotta love it. Especially when netflicks is only $9.99 a month.

Why don't you steal cars too? or candy, you just wanted some candy and candy is good... you should steal that too.

sorry, as someone with a degree in film production, and who works with artists all day long, and has many friends who are movie makers. I get tired of the way so many steal digital content, like it doesn't matter to the people that put their blood, sweat and tears as well as possibly mortgaged their home to finance it, only to have people steal it and pretend like there is nothing wrong stealing... As "they just wanted to watch a movie"...

Also, I recently read that they are building a case against all the people who used sites like this to watch copyrighted materials for future prosecution...
They tremble at my name...

How in the world did you loop stealing movies in with atheism?

While I tend to agree with you about stealing movies, not that I've not done it from time to time, that case will be laughed at and tossed aside if it ever actually comes to fruition.

I will admit I don't download movies, nor do I stream them, but I do have one or two video files that others have given me. Honestly? By me having them the people involved lost NO money. If I am interested enough I will go buy the DVD or get it on Blu Ray. I will also watch it on the big screen. A couple of times I've had the file and enjoyed it enough (suprisingly) that I've good and bought the disk. Some of the stuff I've watched has been specifically because I got it for free. I would never have watched it if if I'd had to pay for it but I enjoyed it enough to buy it. Movies that I've had have been because they were only worth watching for free.

sneaky has said many times he is an athiest...

I can't find the one I read about gathering the users for future prosecution... similar to the illegal music download cases from a few years ago.

So, Glenn, by stating that "Athiests = moral" in response to movie theft, are you stating that:

  • Atheists are more likely to watch a pirated movie?
  • Christians are less likely to watch a pirated movie?

No, I was stating that Atheists claim that they are moral. Many Christians also claim to be moral.

But, when many people find a wallet on the ground... they keep it.

Or find a movie downloadable instead of paying, they watch it, and steal it.

We all get to choose how we will live...

I don't want to generalize that all of any group do "____". But, it is pretty typical that many of our youth are atheists now... And they also steal copyrighted material.

I know... I know...

correlation doesn't equal causation...

but really... morality needs a standard. What is the atheists "standard"?

it sure seems like, "if you don't get caught and it doesn't "hurt" anyone it is OK"... is what I have always heard when this comes up from my athiest friends...

Which is moral relativism.
They tremble at my name...

I would suppose it works on an individual basis, as it does with Christians too.
