I actually shot a DOA SIG fairly well. it takes some getting used to. The reset on the DA/SA sucks. I like everything else about SIG, but the trigger pull is important to me. The short-reset trigger group might make a big difference, but I wouldn't know. Pistol shooting is a totally different animal than rifle, and improve your rifle skills as well. I haven't belonged to a gun club in ages, i miss having to actually make wind-calls to shoot rifle. Name of the game has been practical hunting ranges and skills lately.

I was playing around with a Glock last week... I want to say it was a 30 something, compact model in mens (.45 ACP) caliber. I honest to god could not find a comfortable grip using two hands on the thing.

Yeah, I had my Sig for like a week LOL

I'm really weird about guns, I don't usually take alot of time to work with them. It's kind of a love at first sight thing for me :P.

You probably messed with a 36 like mine. I get a ton of complaints about the grip..my dad hates it. For a guy my size, I have total lady hands, so it fits me like a glove.

Here's my gun with and without the magazine extension, PS3 controller dropped in for size comparison-

I don't use anymore grip than what your pic shows without the extension.  I don't grip with the strong hand ring or pinky finger.  I'm sure it's all sorts of bad for tactical reasons because it would take very little effort to pick the gun out of my hands while I'm shooting.

Glocks and PS3 controllers... My hands're getting uncomfortable already. Wink
My buddy has a glock and a Kimber 1911. Besides the nicer trigger and general feel of the .45, I found I aim better with guns that have a bit more recoil. It's as if the lesser recoil of the Glock makes me get lazy or something between shots.
Ignorance is bliss, why aint you smilin?

Haha, the humor wasn't lost on me. I genuinely hate PS3 controllers...but it was the closest thing to me when I was shooting the pic

I can shoot my G26 at 25 Yds and still be in the black, just remember all your fundamentals don't change because the gun gets smaller.

I can shoot minute of pepper popper with mine at ~80m. The hold over is something chronic, but it can be done.

Like Dave said, fundamentals, however I find they go to pot closer up. I rely more on point shooting than aiming, and I rush.

I can see what you'all are on about but only when I dry fire or pull the trigger to strip the Glock. The rest of the time it is squeeze bang recoil. Honestly I find that with all pistols.

Does anyone have any experience with EAA Windicators by any chance?  I've been looking to pick up a revolver for cheap as something to just play around with.

I didn't shoot it.

Its not that "the gun got smaller, I can't shoot it", It was horribly comfortable and I would rather have a dozen or so firearms before that. I am not bashing it, but its not the gun for me.

As far as plastic pistols go, I'll take a Sig any day over a Glock, honestly.

I shot the DB9 (9x19) yesterday, and the thing kicked horribly. The gun is too light.

If you ever get a chance to shoot one of these with the factory trigger job and ejection port work don't pass it up.

I've heard that the grip angle makes absorbing recoil super easy.

Went shooting for the first time in forever today. It's been too long. Shot my dads 1911 (Colt Series '70 .45 ACP), his .38 (Colt Detective Special), his Sig Trailslide .22, and I attempted to shoot his Colt .22 short single shot, but the hammer wouldn't strike the casing well enough. Also got to try out my newest acquisition:

OOOOh. Just upgraded my Glock 26 to 10-8 performance sights.

Holy COW but these things are a major improvement over the standard Glock sights.

Especially as the Glock 26 comes with adjustable rear sights. Adjustable sights on a serious self defence gun? WTH? And they were plastic!

Loving the 10-8's.

I've been debating on some Novak sights, and one of those new recoil dampening systems.  Maybe a single action only trigger on the CZ, and a flared mag well.
