So I don't know that I will be finished by the end of the month but I gonna give it hell till the very end. I'm about 30% done with 10 hours of designing and 25 hours of fabrication in it so far. |

Bmaxx Had a question...is the 98 mounted into the stock, ready to go in your picture, or is it just kind of assembled to post a pic of what it will look like...the reason I am asking, I have made many mods like that, and it almost looks like the back of the 98 is to far back, to get a "good feel" on the rifle. looks like alot of distance from the back of the 98 to where you have to engage the trigger( hope I explained that, to were its not to confusing ) I had made one like that for a guy and ended up buying it back, as he did not like it...it did not shoot like a rifle, which is the whole point of mounting them in a stock... Not trying to flame, was just wondering. Also, would loose the scope and get a nice red dot...Scope are just not practical on the woodsball field. I learned that lesson the hard way...... |

higear, that picture is nowhere near the assembled product. I've since made a custom trigger that sits nice and back with a VERY light pull to it. The 98 back is no longer any further back than where the actual rifle would be and I'm able to hold it and shoot it comfortably. I'm not sure it'll be done in time. I've still got a lot of fibreglassing left to do to it and more work on the air-lines and trigger mechanism. Hopefully I'll manage to get some sort of paint on it by the time the contest closes. And no need to tell me about optics and paintball. Even RDS, IMO, are closer to useless and practical as I hardly ever have the time to aim down and can just as easily shoot from the shoulder without needing to aim to get an accurate shot. The scope is purely for looks and nothing more. I have an ACOG as well as an ACOG red dot and an aimpoint red dot I may swap on later. I got a new once since, with only 2.5x zoom. PS: Guys, get your pictures up and try and keep text posts to a minimum in the photo thread. Provide all necessary info to make it easier for the judges! |

There should not be any text posts without pictures. Otherwise we'll wind up with a thread 11 pages long! Edited by +DreX+ - 22 February 2008 at 9:20am |
