I'm not sure about the bolt, I know it doesn't look like a 98 Custom (That or he bothered to mill off the word 'custom' without milling off the 'Tippmann' ... unlikely) ... the grip isn't made by Tippmann, in fact, the entire lower half of the marker is a replica of a geniuine reciever frame for a Colt AR model.

It's not a Pro Carbine, due to the fact that it's got  98 style iron sights (look behind and ahead of the AR rail he has mounted on that beast), what does bug me is the flat spot behind the 'Tippmann' ... what is that? An old Model 98?

ZOMG honestly?  I'm just kidding I thought it was a different marker too until I saw the left side of it.

Of course it's a 98... It's the custom pro (newer) or an older 98 Custom.  I'm pretty sure both the new 98 pro and older 98 Custom say in the pressed metal Tippmann... the flat spot is where the metal plate that says "Custom Pro" and "98 Custom" ... he that ripped off but didn't mill off the words Tippmann.

And that's why there is that flat spot.  I mention the flat spot in my list of things I'd change (filling it in with JB weld and sanding it down smooth).

The trigger frame was obviously modified!  Which I also mention when I talk about how the grip looks nice but doesn't look as comfortable as dye sticky grips.

This is definitely the nicest 98 Custom milsim job that has ever hit the internet (or that I have seen at least).

Wow this looks nicer than what I had planned to do to mine, eh Detrevni?!  Don’t answer that. lol

It is the best I’ve seen.  But it’s still not perfect imo…

Things he did perfectly:

--The transfer from real parts (the tiny useless pieces on the left side of marker) they look great (oh and there are some on the right side too) - make it look real.

--The way the launcher is attached makes the 98 C not look so awkwardly long [from the part from the end of the mag to the end of the Tippmann marker (not including barrel)] It seems shorter, which is good on the 98!  The only other way to compensate is to mod a magazine somewhere in the middle between the end of the marker and the trigger.

--No hose on the outside of the marker or no ASA.

--The magazine in the second picture… BEA… UTIFUL

--Has a real AR15-A2 or A3 Sight Rail = best one. (Not BT, Tacamo or Tippmann).

Things I’d change/ don’t like

--The top sight, probably switch it with a larger Tasco Red dot sight (42mm?!) (personal pref).

--Filling in the warning caution words on the left side of the marker.

--Removing the side feedneck cyclone numbs (considering he’s not using them)

--I’d still run a cyclone over a Q-Loader on it, any day.

--The grenade launcher is massive (getting a hold of a Scepter, would be the best – yes they are out of production though).

--Milling the Tippmann lettering off.

--Filling in the part that had the Custom Pro words with bondo or JB weld then sanding smooth.

--Stick a BT sealed bolt over the cocking handle rather than leaving it open. (not the Rocket cock as it doesn’t match nicely on milsims).

--Paintjob is badly done imo.  I’d redo with real duracoat paint, using airbrush and air compressor and stencil make it a Digital woodsland or even better, a MARPAT digi camo.

--The adapter above the A2 or A3 Sight Rail has a gap/loop/round part where there is no metal.  There are nicer looking sight rail adapters than that one.

Things I’m indecisive about

--The rear stock is imo a tad uglier than the Tapco stocks (which is now owned by PCS). Most M-4’s I’ve seen have stock the Tapco style stocks.  But he has an airline going through his stock which you can’t do with a Tapco stock, so it makes up for it.

--The grip is nice and real looking, but doesn’t look as comfortable as Dye Sticky’s (Dye Sticky’s 1st version looks fine on milsim guns and is comfortable).

-- He used a good quality barrel but if he is going for the all M-4 look he could have used a milsim barrel or stuck a muzzle break at the end.

-- He used a very nice shroud but I’m trying to see it in my mind without the holes in the shroud (not my personal pref) and maybe only a top and bottom rail, instead of 4. IDK I just think I’ve seen some that resemble the M-4 more than that one, and that look (maybe) a bit better but I’m indecisive.

All in all, Damn, that thing is great!!

I give it a 9.25/10

When was Tapco bought out by PCS? Tapco makes real firearm stocks and mags, and it was only recently that they started making Tippmann stocks.

Well, a couple years ago. Same difference

I don't know when but I think it was in the past 6 - 9 months...

But last I checked Tapco still makes firearm stocks and stuff.  Their website is still up.

It's just that what was their stock now is packaged in a bag with the name PCS on it.  So ya I'm guessing PCS bought out their paintball side of things and it was over 6 months ago.

Thats all I know.
